Yes, but you have to consider that this is a very new technology and it
will take time to be implemented in the majority of the legacy softphones.
Regarding the other question: there's a thread about sipml5 for voice only
in Doubango's mailing list.

I could make a call between two machines using sipml5, corroborating
what Juha said. I also have another, tangential question -- anyone
knows how I change the simpl5 code so a voice-only call is made? I.e.,
