Try the buf_size modparam for xcap_server.

i then went and increased PV_DEFAULT_PRINT_BUFFER_SIZE in pvapi.c:

#define PV_DEFAULT_PRINT_BUFFER_SIZE 131071

but that didn't help.  any other ideas?
