Now I remember. It was the USE_READLINE. I did not have readline in my build environment, but on the host Linux. The build regardless added option USE_READLINE since it was detected in a hard coded path in the Makefile.

It is working fine for me. Can you please also look into the build process of kamcmd/sercmd.
It failed when I tried to cross compile for OpenWRT. There is some fixed path in the make file, so it looks outside the build environment. I couldn't figure out how to fix it properly.
