dump more info suitable for debugging, which I think it will be too much for version
option. It should be like what we need when someone reports an issue -- one missing part
that we always ask is the operating system distro name and version -- the plan is to add
it, along with other internals, including compile time flags which are not listed in
version.
Just another proposal to restrict command-line switch diversity:
Distinguish between -V to show basic information, -VV to show some more, -VVV even more,
and so on, and tell people to use so many Vs. IMHO, this would be in line with how the -d
switch works.
