The reason for this is that spiral detection is implemented in dlgcb_onreq(). However, dlg_manage() calls dlg_new_dialog() directly, thereby circumventing spiral detection functionality. A fix is to move the spiral detection code into dlg_new_dialog(). This should make it work regardless of how a dialog is (possibly) created.
