This is quite hard to review. Can you please split this in [0]:

• changes in the code ( fixing the misspelled words )
• changes in the docs ( fixing the misspelled words)
• changes in the code ( adding your new parameter )
• changes in the docs ( documenting that change )

Maybe it is better to have two different pull-request. I'm not so sure about changing
the name of the misspelled option. This should be discussed
