Hi all,
We (Xten india) released the latest version of SERAdmin V03f. please check the release notes of latest version.
1. Introduction
1.1 Why SER Administration Application
Present SER is software, which is very tedious to work with, as we have to type each and every command in the command line. It is not user friendly. Moreover SER is not compatible with Microsoft Windows. Also the user cannot know about all the options of SER on running it. To overcome all this disadvantages of SER, SERAdmin has been developed.
1.2 Where to get SER Administration Application
SER Administration Application is available for download in http://developer.berlios.de/projects/seradmin
If the documentation does not resolve your problem you may try contacting us by e-mail at xten_India(a)berlios.de or xten_india(a)yahoo.com
2. Installation
2.1 Installation Notes
Supported architectures:
-- Linux/i386 (Both Server and Client components)
-- Windows (9x,NT, XP, 2000) (for Client component only)
2.2 Requirements
- ser-0.8.10 or ser-0.8.11
- mysql
- jdk1.2
2.3 Download the package
Download all the below three files into the java root of your machine e.g. / jdk<ver>/ bin
1. serserver_v03f.tar
2. seradmin_v03f.jar
2.4 To install the Server Module:
Linux:
1. < tar -xvzf serserver_v03f.tar >
2. export PATH=$PATH:/Seradminserver:/<Java root Path>
3. Type "installserver"
It will install the serserver component.
4. Then It will automatically starts the Serserver.
(press any key to get the command prompt)
2.5 To install the Client Module (SER Administration Application) :
1. Set the PATH to /jdk<ver>/bin in Windows
/usr/java/jdk<ver>/bin in Linux
2. Copy the file "seradmin_v03f.jar" to your system
3. unjar the file by <jar -xvf seradmin_v03f.jar>
4. To run the "SER Administration Application".
<java seradmin>
5. Then proceed the steps as "SER Administration Application" guides.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Before running the client module, the server module should be started on the Linux machine.
The objective of the SERAdminv03f is to support any linux version of ser. This latest SER Administration Application handles ser-0.8.10 and above.
What is new?.
The "Add New user" is replaced by "Approve New user". This option is to approve the requested user from Pending table to Subscriber.
The following commands available in this release
------------------------------------------------
Ping(uri) - Pinging a URI
Cisco_restart(uri) - Restart a Cisco Phone
arg - Arguments of SER
pwd - Present Working Directory
t_uac_dlg - Initiate a Transaction
and also we are included the option to change the SIP_DOMAIN.

I have a budgetone behind nat it registers with ser fine. I can make a call from it to another non nat budgetone fine.
In the following scenario
budgeton(no nat) -> ser -> asterisk -> ........, things work fine
However in the following scenario
budgeton(nat) -> ser -> asterisk ->....., asterisk cannot authenticate the forwarded messages from ser
If I remove the authentication requirement from asterisk there is no problem.
Is there a problem with forwarded authentication when the phone registered with ser is behind nat?

kphone (3.14) also generates ICMP error messages.
x-lite 1094 (and propably some of the old versions) can handle this.
Klaus
I am trying to make an outgoing call to another iptel
account using Asterisk. I have followed a how-to for
asterisk and iptel found at
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20sip%20client%20SER
I am getting the following error message:
Got SIP response 403 "That is ugly -- use From=id next
time (OB)" back from 195.37.77.101
I'm not quite sure what that means. Does anybody know
what I might have done wrong?
Here is my configuration:
sip.conf
register => account:passwd@iptel.org/
[iptel]
type=friend
username=account
secret=passwd
host=iptel.org
extensions.conf
exten=>_3.,1,SetCallerID(myNumber)
exten=>_3.,2,SetCIDName("myName")
exten=>_3.,3,Dial,SIP/${EXTEN:1}@iptel
exten=>_3.,4,Playback(pbx-invalid)
exten=>_3.,5,Hangup
Thank you for your time.

Subject: Re: [Serusers] nathelper question - nat_flag
Basically usrloc has been extended to save the status of a flag. Which
flag it should save can be configured using the "nat_flag" parameter of
the registrar module.
Let's say you configure modparam("registrar", "nat_flag", 6)
Then flag 6 will be saved into the user location database each time you
call save("location") and retrieved each time you call
lookup("location").
If flag 6 is set before save() then it will be also set after lookup() for
the same contact.
Because the user location database stores already rewritten contact (in
case the user agent was behind a NAT), you don't know if the contact
returned by lookup() is behind NAT
That's what the flag is for. If the configured flag is set after
lookup("location") then you know that the contact is behind NAT.
Typically you would do something like this (very rough example):
# For REGISTER
If (contact_is_behind_nat) {
rewrite_contact
setflag(6)
save("location")
}
# For INVITE
if (lookup("location")) {
if (isset(6)) {
# Contact is behind NAT
force_rtp_proxy
}
}

Hi,
Is it possible to have a separate machine for SER and MySQL Server?
