Ok I finally got the right rtpproxy running and SER is seeing it and is
enabling the support for rtpproxy. I just placed a call from my computer
using xlite to another computer on a different network behind a nat. We are
still having the problem of not being able to hear each other.
Is there any configuring I need to do on the server side? Would it help if I
pasted the contents of my ser.cfg file?
Thank you.
Sher

/usr/sbin is fine, but the rtpproxy.tar which is linked
from www.voip-info.org site is for older version of
SER. SER 0.8.14 needs the CVS rtpproxy (I made that mistake)

Thanks anyway Bruno. I found it at portaone's site. Here's the link if
anyone else needs it: http://www.portaone.com/~sobomax/rtpproxy.tar
I downloaded the rtpproxy from portaone and created the executable from the
makefile provided. How do I have SER utilize the rtpproxy now? When I run
SER I get the following messages:
1(32703) ERROR: send_rtpp_command: can't read reply from a RTP proxy
1(32703) WARNING: rtpp_test: can't get version of the RTP proxy
1(32703) WARNING: rtpp_test: support for RTP proxyhas been disabled
temporarily
Thank you

Hi. Has anyone compiled CPLed? I have downloaded the source, extracted it
and I'm using Eclipse in windows. When I try to compile it cannot find the
CPL packages for example, package CPLEd.tree;
If anyone knows what I've done wrong please reply

I'm having a problem making the mysql module for ser. When I type make
modules everything compiles fine except for the mysql.so, it returns an
error saying:
" /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status"
If I remove the -lz it makes but can't be loaded correctly by ser. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Below is the makefile I'm using:
# $Id: Makefile,v 1.22 2003/09/16 18:55:07 janakj Exp $

Hi Bruno. I tried to log in to the cvs server but I'm getting "no such user"
from the cvs login script when I use "anonymous" as the user name. Is there
a tar file that I can grab from an ftp site?
Thanks

Hi
get rtpproxy from CVS and set it up and it will work.
I'm doing the same way you are right now
a couple of days ago I post a message on the list
with the CVS command to download rtpproxy and the
URL of SER config to use it with nathelper
Hope this helps

Hi,everyone
why i cannot use "serctl moni"?I have run the command :export
SIP_DOMAIN="voipv6.edu.cn".
And the error is :
# serctl moni
Error opening ser's FIFO /tmp/ser_fifo
Make sure you have line fifo=/tmp/ser_fifo in your config
And I did have the line :
check_via=yes # (cmd. line: -v)
dns=yes # (cmd. line: -r)
rev_dns=yes # (cmd. line: -R)
port=5060
#children=4
fifo="/tmp/ser_fifo"
what should i do to solve the problem?
These are some informations related to my setting and problem:
1、operating system:Linux 7.0
2、SER distribution: ser-0.8.14_linux_i386.tar.gz

The remote computer does not have a public ip address. That computer is
behind a netgear router. The router itself has the public ip address. My
computer is on a lan as well. I'm behind linksys router. This router has a
separate public ip address. My SER server is located in a separate location
from the two computers. The SER server has a public ip address.
I've configured my ser.cfg file to use nathelper but I'm not using
mediaproxy or rtpproxy. I agree that the RTP packets are getting blocked
somewhere along the way. I'm guessing I can rectify the problem by using a
mediaproxy or a rtpproxy. I'm still new to SER and sip so I'm not sure how
to install and setup the mediaproxy and the rtpproxy.
Thanks for your response Bruno.

Do the remote computer have a public IP address?
if not, are you using some sort of NAT between
your SIP client and the internet/to your SER server?
your SER server is using mediaproxy or rtpproxy?
usually lack of hearing between one peer or the
other means RTP packets are getting blocked somewhere

Hi list,
I'm new with SER and the first problem I got was with NAT.
Does anybody could help me sending a example of this configuration?
Vitor Brasileiro.
I finally got xlite to somewhat work with my SER server. On my lan, I'm able
to get a voice session going between two xlite user agents running on two
different computers. I then tried to gt a voice conversation on an xlite
useragent running on a computer outside of the local network. I was able to
establish a connection w/ the outside computer, but neither of us could hear
each other.
Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem here?
Thanks in advance.
