Hello. I downloaded the latest version of SER and installed it on my redhat
linux server. I've not set up a sip server before so I'm new to this.
1.) Would you please point me in the direction to get started in configuring
the SER server? I would like to test it out w/ an ip phone and windows
messenger.
2.) I noticed that it is preferable to install and use mysql. I already have
mysql installed on my server, but the file "ser-mysql" could not be found in
the latest directory on the ftp site. Where can I find that file to set up
mysql for SER?
3.) What ports should I have open for SER to function if I'm behind
firewall?
4.) Lastly, I would also like to set up the sms gateway module. How can I
have access to that module?
Thank you for your help.

Well, end-devices can mark too and they do so. I am not sure if marking
helps you given the extra latency and bandwidth consumptions SBCs invitably
cause.
Lack of QoS marking in SER is a _feature_.

Let me know what you learn.
SER is standard-compliant SIP server (RFC3261).
SBCs are a marketing term without technological definition. They typically
feature media relay which is a technology with very negative impact on QoS.

Hello all!
I´m having trouble with multiple domains and ATA's 186 and 188.
I can make x-lite register a username + a domain, like 1000@domain1,
but I can´t make the ATA do the same, it always sends the ip address
of the sip proxy (ser) as its "realm" in the Register header.
I can´t find the field in the configuration of the ATA where I could
set its domain.
Best Regards,

I'm afraid it's not possible. The SIP RFC says clear the FROM hdr must
have a tag. If you try to append it using search_append() or some other
textops functions you risk to screw up the transaction matching (req <->
reply matching) - from tag is a key element in this matching.
however, I will try to give it a thought ;-)
