Hi, try to set log_stderr=yes and fork=no and debug=3 in sems.conf for testing, it should produce a lot of debugging output on your console when starting up. There are a lot of possible reasons for SEMS not starting, please post the debugging output either from the commands above or from /var/log/syslog (under redhat the file might be another one under /var/log/ ...) You can also check is sems runs by calling in your shell: ps ax | grep sems Regards, Uli. Is there any way for the proxy to reroute based on the 3xx response vs. passing the 3xx response back to the originating GW? Can this be done via the scripting or through a module? Is there any way for a module to trap a response without sending it back to the originating GW? Thanks Mike

Hi, I have dovnloaded and compiled the latest sources from the CVS. I use digest authentication with mysql database. When I tried to start ser I received the following error in the log: 0(0) auth_db module - initializing 0(0) find_mod_export: <db_use_table> in module sql not found 0(0) auth_db:mod_init(): Unable to bind database module 0(0) init_mod(): Error while initializing module auth_db ERROR: error while initializing modules mysql module was successfuly loaded before. It seems the problem is, that auth_db looks up the function db_use_table in sql module and not in mysql. The previous version of ser worked successfully with the same cfg file. Regards Martin

Hi, Following the radius howto i downloaded freeradius which compiled ok and also radius client which compiled ok too. Compiling ser from sources produces the following at during 'make install' module modules/acc/acc.so not compiled auth_radius.so not compiled group_radius.so not compiled uri_radius.so not compiled The main makefile and the makefile in modules/acc have been modified as instructed. Anyone got any idea where things could have gone wrong ? This is a completely new installation (if it matters). Regards, Lambros

[Serusers] Not Recognizing ACK

Running SER 0.8.12 on Solaris 8 -SPARC with MySQL installed. The issue that I'm running into is that when the originating GW receives a response and generates an ACK the SER doesn't seem to stop the timer for resending the message. If you look in the log, you can see where the server receives it, but the server resends the same response as if the ACK was ignored. It the attached case a 503 response is sent back, but the same situation occurs when other responses are sent. Thanks, Mike

I am running into a problem where SER does not recognize a ua trying to ACK a INVITE 200 OK response. It seems to be the result of pairing of certain SIP ua Mfg. Not all UA's exhibit the problem. 1. Destination UA sends 200 OK to ser 2. SER forwards to origin UA 3. Origin ua sends ACK to SER 4. SER declares "sl_filter_ACK: to late to be a local ACK!" 5. destination UA resends 200 OK and does not open talk path, origin device believes call is connected The ACK seems to arrive just at the right time so I am not sure what the "to late" debug means. Hello, I have ser and ispbs installed and configured. they are both working. I have an issue where once ispbs runs its rundally script (script for billing, account update/removal....) all the cdr in the ser db acc table get erased, and it does not bill the user for those calls. If anybody is experiencing similar problem and has been solved, please let me know!! Thanks.

Hi, I am using ser as a registrar/proxy server. I seem to be able to register a client on the wireless interface on the sip server only if the name of the client is included in the hosts file on the server that too the ip has to be static. Hi, I can't get IVR working with SEMS. IVR reports that it can't load ivr-script. File exists and file permissions are ok. I'm using Debian Woody with python2.2 and python2.2-dev packages. Hi, i tried to create an aliase and i got an error message: 400 Table 'aliases' not found in memory. Use save("aliases") or lookup("aliases") in configuration script first. I guess it all depends on where you want the redirection to take place. If you want to perform some type of call limitation to a specific network, then you need the redirection to take place at the proxy and besides it's another level of unnecessary signaling. Another thing is that it's easier to control how the processing of multiple routes in handled. Some proxies will fork out the request when no "Q" values are present and some will process them until you either have success or run out of routes. I am seeing a strange error on registration. Hi Guys, I have been working on a number of different routines for call forwarding/hunt groups and came across an interesting oudity. When I use failure_route and exec_dset and then use rewritehost and prefix the rewritehost and prefix do not work and my t_relay_to_udp fails. (this assuming I need to change the host. Configuration example follows failure_route[1] { exec_dset('/somdirectory/somescript.pl'); #returns a proper URI rewrite_host("host.com"); prefix(23423); t_relay_to_udp("gateway.com","5060"); } Assuming the exec_dset returns "sip:test@mydomain.com" the t_relay_to_udp() will try contacting sip:test@mydomain.com" and not sip:test@gateway.com Any ideas of why this happens. As it is now, I have my script do the rewrite_host and prefix job internally (assuming the call needs to go to my gateway). Steve

Both are REFER based, but the signaling in the draft is: Proxy --REFER--> A A --INVITE--> B and the signaling implemented with serweb is: Proxy --INVITE--> A Proxy --REFER--> A A --INVITE--> B I prefer the "REFER in session" serweb implementation, but I think the draft solution is different. [Serusers] Authentication problem with freeradius with mysql option

Hello, I have identified the problem. When i use the following digest then it is giving me the error message saying "auth: No User-Password or CHAP-Password attribute in the request" digest file content is: ----- User-Name = "test", Digest-Response = "631d6d73147add2f9e437f59bbc3aeb7", Digest-Realm = "testrealm", Digest-Nonce = "1234abcd" , Digest-Method = "INVITE", Digest-URI = "sip:5555551212@example.com", Digest-Algorithm = "MD5", Digest-User-Name = "test" ----- if change the field "Digest-Nonce" to "User-Password" then it is authenticating, I think there is some problem in dictionary, but it is working fine with out mysql option ( if i use users file insted mysql). Hi! I have a trouble using aliases. When adding an alias, either through SERAdmin or from commandline with for instance: serctl alias add 7777 sip:eter@voip.et2605.com sip:eter@voip.et2605.com 200 Added to table ('7777','sip:eter@voip.et2605.com') to 'aliases' This looks normal, and the alias gets added to the running ser, but not saved in MySQL database. This have been working before, and I have not been able to find out, why it stopped working. Regards, Chris

Hi friends, we recently added an isdn card to our asterisk/ser server. to keep track of outbound calls I have set up a radius server, I would like to log every pstn call. Hello- I am trying to implement a SER configuration where I only have PSTN connectivity via another SIP proxy which I must log into as a user agent. Is there any way that SER can act as a UA in this situation so I can register with the remote server (passing authentication credentials, etc.) then maintain the connection to provide for both outbound and inbound calls as necessary from the users on my system? I am attempting to NAT a SNOM 200 IP phone behind a Dlink ethernet router. Unfortunately, I am having trouble with the config in ser.cfg. I have tried several different options and apparently do not understand what each of the nathelper exported functions are doing exactly. The documentation I have found the web is misleading (I am probably not looking in the correct place). If anyone has this setup working and could send me a sample config I would greatly appreciate the help.

[Serusers] Missing mysql.so module

When I check the ser.cfg file, which is set up according Chapter 3.1 of the Dan Austin SER Howto I got this error: 0(6666) loading module /usr/lib/ser/modules/mysql.so 0(6666) ERROR: load_module: could not open module </usr/lib/ser/modules/mysql.so>: /usr/lib/ser/modules/mysq so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory 0(6666) parse error (29,13-43): failed to load module Sure enough the mysql.so module is not in /usr/lib/ser/modules/ I read through the mailing list and find a number of references to this sort of problem but nothing that seems directly relevant. I have installed mysql using apt-get install mysql-server mysql-client. Mysql installed ok and I was also able to run ser_mysql.sh successfully. Two users set up and also the ser database was set up successfully. I note that the tables created were a bit different to that shown in the howto ie 19 rows not 14 as shown. Didn't bother to check why there was a difference though. I have used the stable debian version of SER. Hello friends, question is simple and straight: what would you suggest as isdn pri telco gw for outside dialing from sip equipment ? We are experimenting with asterisk, works fine but misses radius accounting. We tried to do accounting on ser side but this does not correctly handle calls status, example: a call is routed from ser to asterisk, and from asterisk to the pstn. Invite and bye are recorded by ser in radius but if call is answered or not it does not make any difference, just an invite and a bye are logged. Tried that, ie put the "" around the 192.168.0.100 and get the same response ie Error: bad config file (2 errors). The report doesn't specify what the errors are Im afraid. Re naming of server. I don't use DNS on my network just ip addresses. Im providing access to the server to the outside world by using port forwarding. So Im assuming that I can use the ip address instead of the name in the config file. Is this acceptable to SER?? Hi All Sorry about the last post - I have attached the call flow as an image this time :-) I have a question about the CORRECT operation of UA when making a call via a forking proxy: (see attached image for call flow) Lets say UA1 calls 7000(a)sip.com and user 7000(a)sip.com is available at UA2 and UA3 i.e. the Proxy forks the request. * UA1 is using the to-tag of the first 180 RINGING it received (frame 5) no matter what the to-tag in the 200 OK is * My question here is: who is in the wrong????
