I'm trying serweb with ser 0.8.14 with php 4.3.7 + apache 1.3 I found

I can confirm SER 8.14 compiles flawlessly and is functional on OSX
10.3 including Radius accounting and MySQL support.

Hi,
How does rtpproxy handle call hold? Normally when the
call is put on hold, it doesn't have any rtp packets
between two end UA. Would it cause rtpproxy to tear
down the connection after timeout (default 60s)?
Thanks,
Richard

Hey Girish,
Thanks for swift reply!
I had come to same conclusion about dialplan too... however, I am not
sure the best way of proceeding. In our network, most users will have
both alphanumeric usernames and 4-digit traditional style extension
numbers - both for those with 12-key phones and for easy mapping to
external numbers. For this reason, it seemed easiest to base the
Asterisk VM boxes on those 4-digit extension numbers... then rather than
add an extension for every user in *, I just have a single rule using
the {exten} variable. Otherwise I need some way of mapping alphanumeric
and digit codes to the same mailbox in *... very confusing... I thought
that it would be a lot easier to let * handle the simplest one, and make
Ser always pass it the format it's expecting... there must be way to do
a lookup(alias) and then re-write the URI with the alias before it gets
forwarded.?
Sorry if my explanation about the 404 is confusing... it's confusing for
me too! Attached is the ser.cfg (I hope it retains the indentation!)
Many thanks again,
Dave

I think the problem is in your dialplan. Try adding something like this:
exten => _.,1,Dial(SIP/....

Sorry, I dont understand this problem. Looks to me as a misconfiguration
in the config file.
Please post your ser.cfg. There are many in this forum who can tell you
about the problem after
verifying the config file. I saw your previous post and excerpts from
the config file, but did not
quite understand that.

Hi List,
in the SER radius howto, section 3.3,
(http://iptel.org/ser/ser_radius.html) one can find a hint that radius
authentification can provide a verified phone number for a specific user.
Could this also be done with mysql, and if so how can it be achieved?
Thanks,
Martin
hello,
wrote some small path, which adds authorization with source ip.
to patch:
cd ./ser-0.8.14
patch -p1 < ser-0.8.14_ip_auth.patch
add additional string column to subscribers: acc_ip
ex. usage:
www_authorize_ip("your_realm", "subscriber", "0.0.0.0") )
where "0.0.0.0" means that source ip will be taken from from msg
structure. If you specify IP instead of "0.0.0.0" then it will be checked
instead of one taken from msg structure. It would be equivelent to write
src_ip != "source_ip_to_check" && !www_authorize("your_realm",
"subscriber")
and
!www_authorize_ip("213.226.186.195", "subscriber", "source_ip_to_check")

I have the same issue,
If I get PSTN calls from ASTERISK to SER and I want to redirect calls
from SER to voicemail on the same *, SER says loop detected. I use
two gateways to get rid of this.
If there are any ideas how to solve this from configuration of SER I
would love to hear it.

Answer from the Asterisk users list :-)
No, there's not a way to do it, but maybe to issue a 302 redirect.
Haven't tried it, but that may work.
The Loop Detected stuff is annoying, yes.

Hi,
I am successful installing the SER 0.8.14 and the latest radiusclient 0.4.3
When I run the SER, its giving the following erorr message:
0(32009) ERROR: acc: can't get code for the Failed attribute value
0(32009) init_mod(): Error while initializing module acc
ERROR: error while initializing modules
I have also went through the documentation and appended the required SIP attributes in the dictionary.
Does any one has faced similar issue or am I mising something here?

hello,
is it possible to do source ip authentication besides normal
www_authorize() for every user account?. This, as i understand, should
prevent from intercepting credentials and later faking sip message to
bypass www_authorization ? Or maybe there are some other counter measures
against such fraud?
Does src_ip comes directly from ip layer? If so, i could probably use this
to check with some external database (ie. ser subscriber)?
