I have SER and up to where I can work on the RADIUS issues. Thanks for your
patience on this.
In Messenger I am putting in morriss(a)comm01.orau.gov for my signin to avoid
the 483 error. Does it see the realm as orau.gov, or is the realm defined
as comm01.orau.gov?

There is a ser-radius howto:
http://www.iptel.org/ser/ser_radius.html
Regarding the configuration file, for authentication it will be the same as
the default configuration file, just replace www_authorize with
radius_www_authorize.
For accounting, see the documentation of acc module:
http://www.iptel.org/ser/doc/modules/html/acc.html

I was working on two different servers, and I had a typo. Thanks.
One question -- In the default ser.cfg file it has:
# Uncomment this if you want digest authentication
# mysql.so must be loaded !
# loadmodule "/usr/lib/ser/modules/auth.so"
# loadmodule "/usr/lib/ser/modules/auth_db.so"
Does mysql.so have to be loaded/running for RADIUS authentication to work?
I don't see this in the SER "Radius How-to"
Do you have a copy of a sercfg file where RADIUS is working?

well, then may be you configured it in debugging mode (fork=no) and started
SER only on loopback interface or did some other similar mistake which
results in SER not listening on the proper interface. Try "serctl ps" to see
where SER is listening.

Dear All;
I could not understand what is the difference between the implementation of announcement and voicemail module inside the SEMS.
Actually my problem is that i want to play two different .wav file from the SEMS. When I saw the sems.conf file, i could not found the way to give the path of two different .wav file.
My need is that if caller is connecting to announcement server (vm("/tmp/am_fifo","announcement")) then he should listen some specific voice file say xyz.wav file from the announcement server. And if the caller is connecting to voicemeil server (vm("/tmp/am_fifo","voicemail")) then he should listen some other specific voice file say abc.wav file from the voicemail server.
Can any body tell me how can i make thi setting sems.conf file or something else where...
thanks

I think it would be great to extend the "dispatcher" module, to be able to dispatch among registered entries.
that is, instead of a database, select an address based on the current contacts list.
e.g.: Assume I have an application that registers under the name "app(a)iptel.org" from several physical servers.
The dispatcher will allow me to load-balance among those servers, by selecting one of the registered contacts.
maybe it can be added by defining a set named "contacts" for ds_select_dst.
note: it would be best if the function first find the highest q-value in those contacts, then select only among the entries with the highest value.
Alternately, it can be configured so that it gives relative "weight" to entries based on their q-value.
example usage:
route{
if ( !mf_process_maxfwd_header("10") )
{
sl_send_reply("483","Too Many Hops");
drop();
};
if ( method=="REGISTER" && uri= ~"app" ) {
save( "servers" );
sl_send_reply( "200", "Registered ok" );
break;
};
if ( lookup( "servers" ) ) {
ds_select_dst("contacts", "0");
forward(uri:host, uri:port);
# t_relay();
};
}

Subject: [Serdev] dispatcher module
Hello,
I wrote a tiny module "dispatcher", able to select a destination to
relay the requests to from a set of addresses. It would compute hashes
over parts of the request (e.g., call-id) and select an address from the
destination set based on modulo function. The selected address is used
then as outbound proxy. The module could be used as a stateless load
balancer, but with no guarantee of fair distribution. It can be easily
extended (other distribution functions), but right now I have no time --
contributors will be very welcome.
Would someone be interested in such module? If yes, I will add it to cvs
very soon.
Daniel

This is the problem, SER can't be reached. Most likely, it is not running.

Hey Adrian,
I have been following this thread, as I had a similar problem last week.
I have tried all the things suggested here, but I am still experiencing
them same error. I have downloaded the latest mediaproxy.c and
functions.c and recompiled mediaproxy, and have followed the ser.cfg as
closely as I can... however, as soon as media_proxy is enabled, ser
crashes out ungracefully. Does anyone have any further ideas? My
ser.cfg is at http://161.30.94.136/ser.cfg (getting a bit long to keep
posting now...)
Any help would be very very gratefully received at this point.
Many thanks,
D

Your config calls fix_contact twice, this is why is crashing. Until
this is fixed please follow the guidelines in ser.cfg example from
