Greetings,
After picking up where my supervisor left off, I managed to get SerWeb properly installed on a system running Debian Linux. PHP, Apache, and MySQL are also installed (the correct versions) and are running properly.
The problem comes when I go to the Admin page for SerWeb. I enter the proper username and password (after using the serctl to change the password). When I click the login button, the form activates as though the information has been submitted. However, the form does not take me anywhere but the login screen. It also does not indicate a bad username or password.
I have configured ser's www_authorize and www_challenge lines to use the machine's IP address, as well as the config.php's root_uri, and set the line under domain name to "$this->realm=$this->domainname=$this->default_domain="<machine ip address>"".
I have also set Apache to use the IP address instead trying to guess the server name.
Am I missing something that is preventing this from working? Have I royally screwed up my configuration?
Please provide some insite as to what is going wrong here, as I am very new to Ser and SerWeb.
Thanks,
Justin
Hello List.
A quick question for mediaproxy users: What does it means the HOLD
status?
I see this when i execute the ./sessions command :
Caller Via Called Status
Duration Codec Type Traffic
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
200.xx.xx.x:50179 - xx.xx.xx.35:35050 - xx.xx.xx.66:23240 hold (558)
9'48" G723 Audio 49.50k/99.94k/51.34k
The call is already over, but the mediaproxy still shows the hold status.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Ricardo Martinez
Hi,
I have 2 SIP Proxy running SER 0.8.14 on Linux SuSe.
One in UK and the other one in India. We have
numbering plan to re-write host and then transefer the
call based on number to either India or UK.
When we make calls from UK. Everything is perfect -
Rings, connects and RTP flows.
But when India calls. We don't get any voice. UK Phone
rings, connects but no RTP. All the phones use port
6000. We are using PA168 phones.
Any body has any clue?
Much appreciate your help.
Thanks and Regards,
Suvendu.

Hi again all,
I got a new version of ser from cvs few days ago and it seems there are major
changes in nathelper. Now the configuration that used to work before gives me
this kind of error calling force_rtp_proxy():
ERROR: extract_mediaport: no protocol type in `m='
ERROR: force_rtp_proxy2: can't extract media port from the message
and rtpproxy is not contacted at all.
does anybody have an idea about how to resolve this? Looking at the source
protocol types are 'udp', 'udptl', 'rtp/avp' but I don't really know what
they are compared against. Tested with kphone and xlite, both give same
error, so I guess it is not the client sending invalid sip messages...
Maybe there is some undocumented change in fuction usage, so I hope to hear
from someone aware of it (Jan? Jiri?)
Thanks

Hello list.
I have a question on How to Start Mediaproxy server. When i start
mediaproxy from the console i obtain the following error:
[root@sipproxy mediaproxy]# ./mediaproxy.py
File "./mediaproxy.py", line 84
print >>sys.stderr, "Mediaproxy error: %s. Exiting." % why
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
however i have installed Python2.3
[root@sipproxy mediaproxy]# python
python python1.5 python2 python2.2 python2.3
When i start mediaproxy with the next lines it works ok :
[root@sipproxy mediaproxy]# python2.3 mediaproxy.py
So i made a test and i started mediaproxy with the original python.
[root@sipproxy mediaproxy]# python mediaproxy.py
File "mediaproxy.py", line 84
print >>sys.stderr, "Mediaproxy error: %s. Exiting." % why
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
And i obtained the same initial error.
My question is : Is there a way to force mediaproxy to start with the
pyhton2.3? and therefore make mediaproxy start with %./mediaproxy.py and
pyhton2.3
Hope that someone can help me here.
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo Martinez.-
Hi everone!
I use ser 0.8.14 with auth_radius and group_radius and get from time to
time messages like the following in my logs:
Feb 9 01:20:49 sip.xxx.com /usr/sbin/ser[1829]: rc_ip_hostname:
couldn't look up host by addr: D4754D54
Feb 9 01:20:49 sip.xxx.com /usr/sbin/ser[1829]: rc_send_server: no
reply from RADIUS server unknown:1812
Can anybody tell me where they come from? I cannot experience any
negativ effects of these messages, like users unable to register, etc.
Best regards
Kai

I have not followed the thread so don't know if this is releveant.
I think you should not put the sip: prefix in the alias option of your
config file.
Hope it helps,
Samuel.

Hi Marian,
I carried out the test you suggested and the message
printed out in /var/log/messages, so I still have the
483, too many hops error. Therefore the client uri
definately matched the domain part of the sip url. As
mentioned previously I change the domain in /etc/hosts
on the ser machine(and also added the gateway),I added
the dns address in /etc/resolve.conf and I also edited
the address in /etc/profile.
Therefore at this stage I dont think its the
domain....at least i dont think so anyway...I have
checked that ser is listening on the address specified
with the specified port using netstat -tunap and it is
running.
When I sniff the loopback interface on ser I see tht
the invite message is repeatedly issued to the ser
machine. The sequence for this was shown in the first
email.I have included my default config below (its
pretty basic) and any further thoughts would be
appreciated. Both clients and ser are on public ip's.
Kindest regards,
Pat
