I thought I would ask the list how people are using SER. We plan to use it
in a production environment to be able to provide VOIP services to some
clients.
How do companies such as vonage etc setup their systems, is it with SER
handling REGISTRATIONS and all other UA requests, and asterisk as a backend
which merely does media proxying?

I'm using ser with an AS5350 as PSTN gateway. On the AS i've defined:
sip-ua
sip-server ipv4:1.2.3.4
and for every PSTN number I want to map to a SIP contact for inbound
calls.
dial-peer voice 292 voip
description test
destination-pattern 0123456789
progress_ind setup enable 3
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:1.2.3.4
req-qos controlled-load
ip qos dscp cs5 media
!
Now calls for 0123456789 are forwarded to ser (1.2.3.4), but I need a
way to make ser know who is going to receive the call.
I solved this adding a record to the alias table containing the PSTN
address for incoming calls of each user, which is then matched in ser
through lookup(aliases).
Does anyone use a different approach to solve this?

Is there any limit in the no of minutes of Vonage/Broadvoice ? if
there is no limit, can we use it for terminating traffic ?
Pls share your experience.

load-balancing & failover?
If you use a certain model that works, please let me know. I just need

I'm looking for a way to replicate userloc changes to another SER box
via FIFO. I am using FIFO via PHP to manipulate contacts, but I'm not
sure how to replicate those changes to my other SER's memory. Any
thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm kinda stumped on
this one.

In learning to configure ser, it would seem very useful to log info such
as the URI and other variables, but I can't see how to do it. Is there a
way to include data in the log statements? Something like:
