Hi List,
Currently I use the Perl module Asterisk::LCR to handle the least cost
routing. So I basically have SER forward PSTN calls to my Asterisk box,
and Asterisk handles the routing...
I'm thinking that the LCR part should really be handled by SER. Because,
well, it's dubbed the SIP Express ROUTER, so I'm thinking I ought to get
it to actually ROUTE stuff, including LCR. And I would really like to
keep Asterisk for what it's good at, i.e. voicemail, IVR menus, and AGI.
Now, there's a couple of ways I could do this.
1) Do some static routing, i.e. have a script which writes a (really,
really big) ser.cfg configuration file. Now I wonder how SER would
handle a multi-megabyte configuration file. Another issue is what happen
to SIP traffic when you do a ser restart? I would assume, bad things...
2) Do dynamic routing, but I have no idea on how to achieve this with
SER. Any tips?
Let me know what I can do... I would just *love* to upload a SER::LCR
module on CPAN as well :)
Cheers,
Jean-Michel.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if I can tell ser to log to both stderr and syslog at
the same time?
If there is not, can someone tell me where I need to make the changes to
enable such feature?
Is there any way of telling ser to toggle between different logging
modes, let's say stderr versus syslog,
while ser is running without shutdowing and restarting ser?!
Thanks
ramin

Hi,
i would like to start and restart SER with common user rights.
if I do /etc/init.d/ser start as user I get
touch: cannot touch `/var/lock/subsys/ser': Permission denied
The same question would be for starting rtpproxy.
I guess it's through suid but if set suid bit to my ser script (chmod
u+s ser)
I get the same Permission denied
Could you help me please? Thank you
Ladislav
Hi All,
I was able to successfully install SER and I can make calls. But I have two
problems with it, they are
1) Even unregistered Users are able to call out.
2) We have few computers connected via LAN and we are connected to a router. We
have a UNIX box somewhere else on which we installed SER. My problem is from
computers which have indiviual IP are able to make and receive calls but in my
internal network we are having one way problems or sometimes we are unable to
make or recieve calls.
I am attaching my ser.cfg, please check it and help me to solve my problems.
Thanks,
Manoj.
hi,
I m using ser-0.8.14.
i m trying to send a SIP message from an SER server to another SER server. The length of this message is greater than 1500 Bytes(around 1600 Bytes) , so it is fragmented before being sent.
(in my case it's fragmented to 2 packets.)
then I check the SIP flow using ethereal I found that :
In the IP header of the first packet, the "more fragment" flag is set to "0" so at the reception the second packet is ignored.
And we get at the receiver a SIP message which is not completed.( we don t receive all the SIP message).
is it SER who force that the sent message being less than 1500 bytes ?
thinks a lot

Hi all,
Is the setflag command used only with the acocunting module? I noticed that it is present in the mediaproxy config file from onsip.org. I was wondering if it is necessary?
Thanks,
George
