Hi
I have 2 SIP networks with 2 SERs like on this diagramm:
UA1---------SER1-----------SER----------UA2
I authenticate all UAs and all calls (local, long distance and
international) on both SERs. How can I relay the call from UA1 to UA2 ?
If for example UA1 has local privileges, is there a posibility to relay
the call to UA2 without any more authentication? There is an error 407
(Proxy Authentication Required).
Thank you in advance.

Hi all!
i have openser running and supports authentication and calling,. i made
calls and verified that the media session is established both ways. now if i
disconnect the call, i cant see the BYE request sent. in the ethereal i dont
see any call related messages after ACK is sent for the INVITE. please help
me.....
i have a line in the openser.cfg file for the BYE request processing
if ( method =="BYE || method==CANCEL") {
end_media_session();
};
i have also loaded the mediaproxy.so module. however i dont have media proxy
installed. is that y i am not getting to see BYE? i tried removing the above
lines from the code. with or without them i dont see any difference in the
behavior and i dont see BYE when i hang up.
Please help!!

Hi,
I think this issue was already risen a while back, but seen that there
is no answer, i will insist :D
My SER becomes completely unresponsive (UDP and TCP) after a while. I
started it 3 days ago and have a monitoring script that sends 1
REGISTER every 10 secs (plus a few other phones). This morning that
SER was totally stoned! :(
I have tried sending via UDP and TCP ... same answer (that is, no answer).
But, the fifo (thus, part of SER) still works (i can do a serctl moni).
I am trying to investigate myself ... what can i do? can i force a
core dump from the shell (sending some kill signal) to the already
stoned SER?
Regards,
Cesc
Hi Samuel,
What is your client ?
If you use Eyebeam, it updates the file :
xcap-root/privacy-lists/users/sam/privacy-lists.xml
What is the format used in your im-rules.xml file ?
Thanks,
ilker

As I said, unfortunately, I ran out of time and I could not go further experimenting with presence & IM......
The path of the file depends on the username, for the user sam, the rules of the IM are located in the next file:
xcap-root/im-rules/users/sam/im-rules.xml
and what you put within the brackets is just the file name: im-rules.xml.
I would say it worked but now i'm not 100% sure, only 99.99% :P and without any modification in the code. The code might have changed since I tried it last time.
Samuel.

Hi all!
since i had problems with running openser thru init.d script., i tried to
run it thru openserctl. however, the file /var/run/openser.pid is not found
there and it too was not running. so i started running openser with
/usr/local/sbin/openser start. it works fine this way. also since
/usr/local/sbin is in my PATH variable, i can directly type openser start
and this way also it runs. however, after starting openser, it does not
return the command prompt back. if i have to stop running openser, i have to
hit ctrl+c. there is no other way to stop it.... please let me know how to
start and stop openser directly (not thru init or openserctl because both of
them give me trouble). also how can i see which is the main pid of openser
as when i run the ps command , it shows me some 3-4 pids for different
subprocesses............
Thanks in advance,
Padmaja

Hi all,
I need to enable a debug log or call tracing for a specific host /
DID. Can anyone point me to documentation or give me pointers on how
to accomplish this?
Thanks,

What source do you recommend I use in writing my documentation? If you could provide a source, I'd be happy to consider writing some. I did not question the quality of OpenSER. I questioned the quality of the documentation for OpenSER.
Just because something is open source, does not immediately mean it has to have bad documentation.
Doug.
The documentation is not very good.
It's a wee bit difficult for others to write documentation when they can't figure the software out, because the developers never wrote any good ones. Eight months of openser and I'm still trying to work out how all this branch stuff works. Don't have a clue, and there's no books on this stuff either. If you ask in the list you get half answers and riddles.

I just upgraded from 1.0.1 to the current cvs version.
Ran openser and got this:
Jun 5 11:54:47 apollo openser: parse error (156,21-24): syntax error
Jun 5 11:54:47 apollo openser: parse error (156,39-40): bad forwardargument
Here's the relevant section of openser.cfg. Line 156 is the
line with: forward(uri:host, uri:port);
#
# Outgoing PSTN Calls - Dispatch to Audiocodes
#
if ( src_ip == xxx.187.142.203 ||
src_ip == xxx.187.142.204 ||
src_ip == xxx.187.142.232 ||
src_ip == xxx.187.142.201 ||
src_ip == xxx.187.142.231 ) {
sl_send_reply("100","Trying");
xlog ("L_INFO","Outbound PSTN call. Dispatching to Audiocodes");
ds_select_dst("2","0");
forward(uri:host, uri:port);
return;
}
What's wrong with this? The example in the 1.1 documentation
has the same use of the forward() command!
