why is tcp_no_connect disabled by default

I'm trying to understand the scenario when `tcp_no_connect` should ever be set to `no`. Kamailio comes with `tcp_no_connect=no` by default which means it will try (and seemingly always fail) to create an outbound tcp connection when a UAC's tcp connection is lost. This in-turn could start building up the tcp write queue and can be disastrous at scale. So why would this setting (`tcp_no_connect=no`) ever be useful? Thanks

Hello, I'm trying to add a SDP Body on 183 replies. >From some carriers I don't get any SDP. The goal is to add SDP , Engage PROXY & stream2uac on all 183 packets without SDP Do you think it's possible ? :)

Hello Daniel, Yes, that are the parameters I've set. But just found out why the kamcmd uac commands were not working. Looks like you have to have a succesfull registry to be able to give the uac.reg_xxx command. Once I had a succesfull registration, the command works. So, I will continue to learn.. Thanks. Hello All, Been a while, glad to be back. I started working with the kamailio 5.0.2 version, specificly with the UAC module trying to register accounts with another B2BUA. When I give the command kamcmd, I end up in de kamcmd cli. The command ctl.connectsion shows me the number of connections, when I give the command uac.reg_dump, the result is an error: 500. Below the cli dump... I'm going to assume I have an error in my config, but I don't understand where... Hello, Can Kamaillio act as a user and send SIP registration? If yes, how/which module and any sample config? I tried to use UAC module but errored while loading the module inspite of loading it after TM/RR module. Thanks Anu

xavp questions (variables in root/branch)

Hi, community! I have a question regarding xavp usage. according to docs, xavp has format: $xavp(root=>branch)="value"; I want to use "root" and "branch" - variables. (as it is implemented with AVPs - the id there, can be variable) e.g.: ... $var(root_key) = "root_1"; $var(branch_key1) = "key_value1"; ... $xavp($var(root_key)[0]=>$var(branch_key1)) = "some_value"; ... Playing around with the script - I found that it is currently impossible (tested with 4.2.5 and 5.2.0 versions). Kamailio interprets variables in "root" and "branch" as static strings. Walking through the mailing list history, I have an impression that xavp are originally designed to operate only with constant keys. The question is: is it planned to add functionality with variables as "root" and "branch" components? Thanks in advance for the answers! I_SCSCF_select function dont return the next SCSCF in IMS network!!!

Hello, Today i have a strange problem in IMS network. All nodes (pcscf,icscf,scscf and hss) are configured in independent server. My domain is default(open-ims.test) Now when i want to register bob(a)open-ims.test, I get this error from ICSCF: 500 Error in request. When i saw the log files, i found the icscf could not found the next node(scscf) in registration path. As i defined prefered scscf_uri in configuration file, Why the icscf, could not found the scscf? The dns server works correctly and i have ping of scscf.open-ims.test from icscf node. When i trace the diameter packets, the icscf connect to hss successfully but dont send UAR to hss while registration proccess!! It's strange. Hello, Some help here is needed # auto-discard branches from previous serial forking leg modparam("tm", "failure_reply_mode", 3) I test a call with two branches. 1st branch received a 408 timeout error 2nd branch received a 486 busy. Normally the failure route should be with the 486. NOTICE: <script>: Failure route -----2---1--408---- We can see the 408 is the winning reply but I understood from the documentation that if Failure reply mode is "3" , the winning reply is always the reply from the last branch :) It's a problem because if the 1st is timeout (because down), the second is OK but callee is busy ; we don't send the right reply to the caller
