error in carrierroute in kamailio 4.0.x

hi all OS ubuntu 12.04 or ubuntu 10.04 - just did a check with debian 7 - same problem Module carrierroute not working starting from version kamailio 4.0.x trying to activate carrierroute in kamailio.cfg loadmodule "carrierroute.so" i get the following error when starting kamailio 0(7547) ERROR: <core> [sr_module.c:572]: load_module(): ERROR: load_module: could not open module </usr/lib64/kamailio/modules/carrierroute.so>: /usr/lib64/kamailio/modules/carrierroute.so: undefined symbol: cfg_set_error_function 0(7547) : <core> [cfg.y:3567]: yyerror_at(): parse error in config file /etc/kamailio/kamailio.cfg, line 219, column 12-28: failed to load module ERROR: bad config file (1 errors) the function "cfg_set_error_function" is different, if i use another linux system. I tested with ubuntu 12.04 & 10.04. I installed with apt-get install and I also compiled the version using GIT. I did a crosscheck with kamailio 3.3 and there it seems to work! Any idea? Hi, Klaus, thank you for pointing me in the right direction with SIP trunks, got it working so thanks! Basically I did exactly what you said: - Dialled number - Match that number to a registered user (had to create a new table for that) - Lookup user - Replace dialled s@ with original number dialled Works like a charm, however, I have a question over speed and performance. As this is a SQL query and not held in memory is this SQL lookup doing to cause me problems? It's not a big query at the moment, but it could get quite big as I will need to map each number to a registered trunk. Many thanks, Keith

Just to precise, I seen another discussion with a similar problem. I test with children=1 and it works (result in 6 MySQL connections!). But it would be insufficient for production uses. How can we grow the number of children and keep Kamailio working? Regards, Igor. Call_control after executing dlg_manage()

Hi folks, i have a problem with call_control module. I get a following log from kamailio kamailio[15066]: WARNING: call_control [call_control.c:1159]: postprocess_request(): dialog to trace controlled call was not created. discarding callcontrol. and following log from call_control python application Call id <call-id> of 1000(a)domain.com to sip:0033000000@domain.com canceled by user As far as I can see the call_control module runs a postprocess_request() function which checks whether the dialog was created by checking FL_USE_CALL_CONTROL variable. This variable is set at the time of the registration of call_controll to the dialog module DLGCB_CREATED. Therefore if I call the call_control() function in kamailio after the dlg_manage, the FL_USE_CALL_CONTROL cannot be set and the call_control won't work. In my configuration I would like to call the dlg_manage at the beginning of the script for example because of uac_replace_from as I have AUTO_RESTORE mode ON. I have kamailio 4.0.2 and call_control 2.0.15. Is there anything I can fix in a script or configuration or this is an implementation problem? Thanks for the reply Efelin

UAC Module fail to refresh REGISTER

Hi list i'm testing uac module with a did provider, apparently it works the first register, when it's going to refresh the session the register packed don't send the proxy-authorization header. Hi, I've an observation regarding PUBLISH message handling. on receiving of PUBLISH message, SER is sending NOTIFY with presence information of all the buddies available in the buddy list while it should be sending that only for the buddy updating his/her presence information. Because of this the size of every NOTIFY message traversing on the network is quite high. Please help if there is any change I'll have to do to achieve the desired. Sometimes cr_route fails on old kamailio 1.4

Hello, I have to take care of an old server running kamailio 1.4 (I plan to upgrade to latest, but I cannot do it at the moment). It uses carrierroute and it works fine. Now I am testing adding a new carrier and it worked. So, I was thinking, maybe domain names '0' and '1' would not be good for this and I should use some longer names. Well i should not expect a domain named '0' to always result in an id=0. But I would expect that whatever id is resolved, it should happen equally for both values being matched that came from the same base element (supposedly, the domain name). I will test using longer names anyway, but since this problem doesn't happen everytime I do cr_reload_routes, I was hoping to get an opinion about it. Regards, Takeshi

State Agents RFC 3265 [2] requires each package to consider the role of state agents in the package, and if they are used, to specify how authentication and authorization are done. State agents are core to this package. Whenever the PA is not co-located with the PUA for the presentity, the PA is acting as a state agent. It collects presence state from the PUA, and aggregates it into a presence document. Because there can be multiple PUA, a centralized state agent is needed to perform this aggregation. That is why state agents are fundamental to presence. Indeed, they have a specific term that describes them - a presence server. Seems the presence server needs to aggregate statuses from different PUAs for the same presentity into a single presence document, if I understand it correctly? Anyway it is not what happens currently with Kamailio 4.0.3 unless I'm missing anything. XML RPC Module Call Not Responding

Hello, I'm using Kamailio 4.0.3 as a presence server. I read in the documentation that the MI interface is or will be deprecated so I decided to use XMLRPC to get presence information about the UAs registered to the Kamailio to feed into my application. I reused the example Python xmlrpc example script to prove out that I could connect to Kamailio and retrieve any information. I tried executing this command [root@hera home]# python xmlrpcclient.py GET '<?xml version='1.0'?><methodCall><methodName>usrLoc.statistics</methodName><params></params></methodCall>' ^Z [4]+ Stopped python xmlrpcclient.py GET '<?xml version='1.0'?><methodCall><methodName>usrLoc.statistics</methodName><params></params></methodCall>' It seems the command hangs, but I read in the kamailio.cfg file that Kamailio does not accept connections from Python's xmlrpclib so is this correct? Are there other libraries out there, I prefer Python but willing to give Lua a try. Or am I missing something something else, I made the script executable and its running locally on the local host and using port 5060. The use case I'm trying to develop is send Kamailio the AoR/URI of a registered UA and get back its presence state (online/offline), that is it. Regards, Tony de Sousa

Thanks for looking at it, I have put in a notice message in the failure_route and it's not showing in the log which suggests it's not triggering this route at all. I don't think it is treating the 401 as a failure route. Hi! keep_hf("") keeps all headers, as every header matches the regexp "". IMO an empty regexp should remove all headers (except the mandatory ones). Otherwise I have to use something like keep_hf("hope-this-header-never-exists") regards Klaus

Apply changes made to sip reply in onreply_route

Hello, I've setup two Kamailio machines, one which does all the processing and the second one which always replies with a 500 Server Internal Error, to test my Dispatcher fail-over. When routing a call, the call is always routed to the second Kamailio first, to test the fail-over. What happens in this scenario is the 500 is received by the main Kamailio and the 500 message is duplicated to the capture server. After this the failure_route kicks in and the 500 is obviously never sent back to the initiator. The changes made to the 500 message (adding a new header), in onreply_route, aren't present when the message is duplicated to the capture server, because the original 500 message is duplicated instead of the modified one. I tried the following things, but none of them worked: - Adding the header and calling sip_trace();, but this doesn't work since sip_trace() duplicated the message prior to changes made to it. - Msg_apply_changes(), doesn't work either, since I can't use it in onreply_route - Append_to_reply(), cannot be used from onreply_route Appending new headers to replies works, but only when the reply is also sent back to the initiator, since I have the setflag(22) set. This makes sure the processed messages are also duplicated. In this case the 500 is never sent back. Anyone have an idea how to solve this? Regards, Grant

I have tried to set a failure route as follows: t_on_failure("FAILURE_HANDLE"); failure_route[FAILURE_HANDLE] { if (t_is_canceled()) { exit; } if(t_check_status("401")) { uac_auth(); } t_relay(); } But it doesn't see to send the credentials back. Question about Presence Federation and Interacting with the Kamailio 4.x Presence Module

Hello sr mailing list, I've been banging my head around this for a while. I have an interesting use case. We have a remote site where the user's SIP phones register to a MetaSwitch Call Feature Server. This CFS supports all the presence RFCs like RFC 4235 (Dialog Event Package) and RFC 3856 (Presence Event Package). Those users also have a GUI on their desk PC's that provide the user with information about the state our our application. Now the use case, I want to have the "presence" state of the SIP phones (on-hook/Open, off-hook/InUse) displayed on the GUI. I already have the communication channel between the backend application server and the GUI. What I need guidance on is, 1. Is it possible to setup my Kamailio (4.0.3/CentOS 6.4 32 bit) to receive PUBLISH messages from the MetaSwitch CFS which is responsible for the Presentities under its control. I'm optimistic that this may be a simple SIP Trunk. 2. My application server (which would act as the Watcher) will need to subscribe to the presence events of a list of presentities I'm interested in. This could be done by using SIP and sending a SUBSCRIBE message, but my application doesn't have a SIP stack so is there a API to interact with the Presence module? 3. As per the RFCs and documentation the "watcher application" is responsible for consuming the NOTIFY messages. Once again my application doesn't have a SIP stack so is there a API that my application can poll for or can listen for presence event updates at a higher layer than SIP/SIMPLE Any guidance would be appreciated. When a client (S) subscribes to this contact (username@domain) whose credentials are used by two clients, (S) gets NOTIFYs containing statuses from either of the username@domain contacts in alternation. But all these NOTIFYs have the same call-id. I've tried remove the constraint 'CONSTRAINT presentity_idx UNIQUE (username, domain, event, etag)' from the presentity table and the errors have gone away. Just wondering if this is something that *should* be done to cope with the situation where multiple presentities use the same credentials. I would proposed October 7 as the last day do accept new features for v4.1.0. That gives another three weeks to push new code. difference in INVITEs when failure_route applies

Hello, Consider the following: the Dispatcher module has two destinations loaded. Now let's say we have the following two scenarios: Scenario 1: Kamailio tries to relay the INVITE to the first destination selected by the Dispatcher module, but this destination does not reply for some reason. Scenario 2: Kamailio tries to relay the INVITE to the first destination selected by the Dispatcher module, but this destination replies back with a 500 Server Internal Error. I know that in the first case, Kamailio will enter the failure_route and try to Dispatch the INIVTE to the next destination in the set. In the second case, I'm not sure, because this would require some custom code to drop the 500 reply and try the next destination in the Dispatcher set. Correct? If the second case solution is possible and Kamailio tries the next destination, which values would make the second INVITE and its replies different from the first INVITE and its replies? The To-Tag and CSeq should be different right? Any other values which Kamailio perhaps uses internally to identify/associate messages? Are these values accessible? The reason I'm asking this is because I want to log each INVITE tried as a separate call in our database and use SIP replies and in-dialog requests to update its state, but I'm doing this based on the CallID. For this to work, I need another value to make each INVITE (which have the same CallID, in case of Failover) unique. The requirements are that these values must be present for each message in a dialog. I hope I'm being clear enough. Regards, Grant

Thanks Morten, So basically it's saying, if it matches that number and the user does not have the permission to call it then block. I am a bit unclear of the AVP stuff to be honest, is this trying to match the username to the attribute in the table? And what value does it look for in the table? Hello, Is it possible to append a new header to a reply generated by Kamailio and also have it present when duplicating the message to a capture server? At the moment the 603 Reply is duplicated to my capture server, but I don't know how to append a new header, because the kamailio script stops executing after exit is called. >From what I understood: onreply_route is only executed when receiving replies. Hello, I'm trying to replace the value of a custom header in the failure_route, using the subst function. subst('/^X-Dispatcher:(.+)$/"X-Dispatcher: \$(avp(dsattrs){param.value,dispatcher})"/i'); I also tried it with the subst_hf, but that didn't work either. I'm getting the following message: 5(19536) DEBUG: <core> [re.c:454]: subst_run(): subst_run: running. r=1 5(19536) DEBUG: textops [textops.c:681]: subst_f(): lst was (nil) Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong here? pkg.stats problem

Hello, I have one installation with a strange pkg.stats output: root@host:~# kamcmd pkg.stats index 36 { entry: 36 pid: 2599 rank: -4 used: 16234288 free: 15788240 real_used: 16900864 } After some time I've checked it again and found that used and real_used fields grew up while free wasn't changed: root@host:~# kamcmd pkg.stats index 36 { entry: 36 pid: 2599 rank: -4 used: 19393184 free: 15788240 real_used: 20125968 } Additional info: - kamailio-4.0.2 started with -m 128 -M 16 - Process:: ID=36 PID=2599 Type=tcp main process - this server works as a websocket(ws,wss) to udp/tcp gateway. How is it possible that real_used is bigger that -M allows and free value is not changing while used/real_used are growing up.

Hello, Kamailio SIP Server v4.0.4 stable release is out. This is a maintenance release of the latest stable branch, 4.0, that includes fixes since release of v4.0.0. There is no change to database schema or configuration language structure that you have to do on installations of v4.0.0. Deployments running previous v4.x.x versions are strongly recommended to be upgraded to v4.0.4. Presence issue between XMPP-SIP clients.

Dear All, I am working on XMPP module of kamailio server (V-4.0.2), intended to achieve File transfer, IM features. Firstly my Kamailio and Jabberd2 servers are on the same machine. I managed to separately make them work. Call setup between SIP clients is working and so with messaging/presence, File transfer functions for Jabberd clients. But when i integrate both the servers by using xmpp module, i can only send messages to SIP clients from XMPP client (one way) but i cannot send messages to xmpp clients from SIP clients. Off course the *presence is not sharing* between these SIP and XMPP clients. My clients URI and JID syntax are looking like this: ---> SIP client (registered to kamailio server): *112@sip_domain* ---> XMPP client (registered to Jabberd server): * 114*sip_domain@jabber_server *(Is this syntax is correct?) And in SIP client contact list ,added an XMPP user which look like this: *sip:114*sip_domain*jabber_server@gateway_domain * In XMPP clients buddy list, added a SIP client which looks like this: * 112*sip_domain@xmpp_domain* Is the above syntaxes are correct ? Phones losing registration.

Hello, I am running into a problem with my set up. I have Kamailio 4.0 set up with an Asterisk server (ARA). Initially I had three machines; one for Kamailio, one for Asterisk and one for my db. The set up worked fine for about a week after which I saw that my phones were losing registration for prolonged periods and then would re-register after a few hours. So what I did was to move Asterisk and Kamailio on the same server and only had my DB on a separate machine. All worked well for about a week and now I am facing the same issue. At any given time all my services ( kamailio, Asterisk, RTPproxy) are all running. My question is where and how do I start to trouble shoot this issue? I have not really done any debugging in the past so I would appreciate any pointers as to where to start? Thank you for your help. Regards, Arun

kamailio registering on back-end asterisk with username and password

I'm trying to implement a load balancer for asterisk servers using kamailio and the tutorial at http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-4.0.x-asterisk-11.3.0-astdb I must fit the balancer in an infrastructure without touching the other media servers (asterisk) which require a username/password authentication. The sample implementation constructs a register request from scratch, but does not handle authorization and thus fails. I cannot change the current sip servers and their configuration as these are a live system and I'm not allowed to touch it. Communicate with Kamailio through external application

Hello, When adding rows to the dispatcher table, the table in memory needs to be refreshed. Since we have multiple Kamailio instances running on different machines, I'd like to automate the process of reloading the table. Is there an easy way of doing this with an already existing module, which provides easy connectivity from the outside? Or do I need to write an application which basically sets up a SSH socket connection with the machine and sends the command "kamctl dispatcher reload" then exit? Not that hard either, but there might be a finer solution available. Regards, Grant

The machine has 12 Gb of RAM , we run with children=32 . 1gb of memory per process x 32 child processes means that we are over the physical capacity of the machine. The question is , are we in any danger of running out of memory on this box where we only run kamailio ? We don't want to reach the point where the kernel starts killing processes. question on rtpproxy module

Hi, I am trying to install 3 difference rtpproxy module on 3 different Virtual machines. And I have installed kamailio-4.0.3 in another virtual machine. When I start running the kamailio it sends the ping information to all the rtpproxy servers once via rtpp_test method in rtpproxy module. But I want to send the periodic ping to all the rtpproxy servers. Currently the module will send the ping whenever the rtpproxy function gets invoked. Is it possible to create new thread for that check and not to call rtpp_test method all the time when request comes ? Thanks in Advance -- Regards Praveen.

Hi, I am using Kamailio (4.0.3 (x86_64/linux)) against an MSS in the mobile core network. Kamailio receives an INVITE with following bodies: Content-Type: application/sdp .... Content-Type: application/ISUP;base=itu-t92+;version=itu-t92+. .... How can the latter part i.e. the ISUP body be *removed *so that I just keep the sdp and relay. I have gone through the docs for textops, mangler, sdpops. What other functions are there for sdp removal apart from *sdp_remove_line_by_prefix.* * * It's a bit impressive that Kamailio could at least respond to all such multi-body (SDP+ISUP) INVITE messages while asterisk 1.8 (the one in debian apt) could not. * * Best regards, Adnan

db_mysql module on different interface

I am setting up my kamailio and mysql server on separate machines. They are connected via a private network on the eth1. The public interfaces are on eth0. I can use the mysql client to log in the mysql server via the private network but kamailio will not connect. If I change the mysql to communicate on the public network it works (where the sip messaging and mysql are on the same interface). Is there a setting or something that I have to change so the sip messaging and mysql can be on different interfaces. Thanks in advance, Sam

How does kamailio keep track of contacts?

Hello, I'm having trouble understanding how Kamailio keeps track of contacts when used as an outbound proxy. When using Kamailio as the registrar, contact information for each endpoint is generally stored in the locations table. However, when Kamailio is used as an outbound proxy, the location table isn't used to keep track registrations. How then does Kamailio keep track of contacts when used as an outbound proxy? Is Kamailio able to do NAT pinging on clients behind NAT in this scenario? Thanks, Isaac

Hi .*, scenario: 1) kamailio listening on 0.0.0.0:5060 UDP and TCP configured as SIP proxy 2) eth0 private interface, eth1 public interface 3) multiple IP address on eth1 4) firewall open on 5060 UCP/TCP only for 1 IP address x.x.x.x When from a client I try to register to the SIP proxy, packets are going to IP x.x.x.x but kamailio replies using a different source IP (typically first one configured on the interface) and not the one it received the request to. Decoding HTTP URLs in event_route[xhttp:request]

Hello, I was wondering if there was an easy way to decode HTTP URLs in event_route[xhttp:request]? For example, it would be good to be able to breakdown a URL like: /sip?apiKey=abcdefg&username=1234567890:alice@example.com into "path/on/server" ("/sip" in this case) and a set of parameters. For the parameters something like the {param.value,name} transformation for SIP header parameters would be ideal (which works perfectly for picking values out of HTTP Cookie: headers). I noticed that there is already an {s.urldecode.param} transformation in the PV module but I couldn't find any documentation for it in the wiki and looking at the code it doesn't appear to do this anyway. I believe reason was MY_WS_ADDR in route set, added by record_route(). Above sanity check seems sensible tough, so I fixed advertised route set with call to force_send_socket() as seen on attached patch. I wonder if my fix is the best approach. Should the remaining other two t_relay() calls also be prepared with force_send_socket()? -- Mikko

unregister user when kamailio looses TCP connection.

Hello, I've made a patch to kamailio-4.0.3 which removes stale registration when kamailio looses an incoming tcp connection. Of course this patch needs more work. Since the are no direct references between user location contacts and tcp connections callback function uses linear search through the whole location table using received field as a key. Can anybody more experienced in kamailio internals check if I chose the right place to get information about lost tcp connections ? Another thing I wanted to ask is maybe somebody can suggest a better way to tie a tcp connection to the user location information without complicating "usrloc" module by any heavy data structures. If anybody else except me need this It would be great to fix known problems and add it to kamailio.

Hello, following the Kristian's email and blog about Apple Facetime using compressions of the body (http://lists.sip-router.org/pipermail/sr-users/2013-September/079816.html), I did a quick coding Friday evening and put together a new module that uses zlib to compress/decompress the body for SIP messages - I named it gzcompress, its readme is available at: - http://kamailio.org/docs/modules/devel/modules/gzcompress.html Might be useful for those that want to save bandwidth when peering two kamailios or target to get under MTU size. It is now enabled for SIP traffic only, but the plan is to get it for http as well, where it can be more relevant for xcap traffic. Caller ID using From header

Wondering what others are doing / looking for any tips for the best handling of caller ID in this scenario. Call flow - UA >> Proxy >> Asterisk >> Proxy >> Carrier Carrier only reads caller ID by 'From header' Asterisk is only used for media functions / b2bua and not user aware. UA username is not a DID but rather some other string, such as 'dan(a)domain.com'. Goal is to use DID for caller ID, but I like to avoid modifying the 'From header'. Any thoughts? dispatcher: set $du in failure_route

Hello, Can the $du value also be set in a failure_route? For instance in the case the first destination fails. I'm currently setting the $du value before I'm calling the ds_next_domain function in request_route. We have multiple carriers which are connected to different SBCs. In case $du is not re-set in failure_route, Kamailio will try to send the INVITE to the carrier directly, bypassing the SBC, correct? Regards, Grant

Hi Daniel, That's the path I'm on, just wanted to make sure I hadn't overlooked something obvious. In a test environment, I have a SIP client registered to kamailio. I also have kamailio registered with an ITSP using uac module, based on a UACReg record configured through Siremis. Inbound calls are routing nicely, but I'm having trouble with outbound calls. My ITSP account is challenging the outbound INVITE. Configuring peering is an option, but I'm trying to understand the authentication case for my own satisfaction. If I understand correctly, there are a number of approaches for outbound: 1. Use another service as a gateway (asterisk, etc) 2. Use lcr module 3. Use carrierroute module 4. Use manual routing in the config file Some comments on these: 1. I understand that kamailio is not designed to be a B2BUA, I'm trying to use it as a proxy. I prefer not to introduce another element. 2. lcr module looks promising. I got as far as loading a gateway from the database, but then hit the authentication problem described in 4. below. 3. carrierroute module has been troublesome. I'm using the APT package and found that carrierroute was not included. After installing kamailio-carrierroute-modules, kamailio fails to start with a load_module error: undefined symbol cfg_set_error_function. Similar trouble has been reported in relation to libconfuse. This is installed and 'ldd carrierroute.so' does not report any missing dependencies. 4. Since I'm using only a single outbound route (for now), I'm working on manual routing in the config file while I get the authentication working. I have got as far as catching the 401 Unauth response from the ITSP to my INVITE, calling uac_auth() in the failure_route (see fragment below) and relaying. The ITSP then returns 482 Merged Request in response to the INVITE that includes the auth header. This occurs regardless of whether I call append_branch before relaying. I have read a number of historical threads about the CSeq not being incremented and it makes sense to me in this context not to do so, but a different branch tag doesn't appear to be enough in this case for the server to treat it as a different request. failure_route[1] { if (t_check_status("401")) { append_branch(); uac_auth(); } t_relay(); } Incidentally, in order to create the Auth response, I had to hard code credentials into the config file with modparam("uac","credential","user:domain:password") Can these credentials be configured from Siremis? Hi All, I have Kamailio 4.0.3 installed via APT onto Ubuntu 12.04 and have Siremis 4.0 installed and running nicely. Is there an example config file that demonstrates how to use the features configurable through Siremis? For example, when I populate a UACReg record via Siremis, I had to adapt the kamailio.cfg to use that information. Similar adaptations are required for LCR or CR records and these are where I'm struggling; there is some routing code that is implied by the data structures, but the documentation for the corresponding modules doesn't provide an overall example. Hello, I compiled and installed Kamailio 4.0.3 like usual on a new test machine, but changed the CFGFILE variable in /etc/init.d/kamailio to /usr/local/etc/kamailio/kamailio.cfg. Kamailio started normally. When I reset CFGFILE to CFGFILE=/etc/kamailio/kamailio.cfg and start Kamailio again, I'm getting an error saying it can't find the file at /usr/local/etc/kamailio/kamailio.cfg. I renamed the config file at /usr/local/etc/kamailio/ to make sure it's not using that one, but it still is. Why is the change not being accepted? Regards, Grant

SCA Module Drops Shared Line if Barge-In Aborted on Polycom

SCA Developers, I ran into a problem using the SCA module and was looking for some assistance for the following situation. Can you help? Here is the scenario: 1. When a conversation is occurring on a shared line with Polycom phones; 2. Another caller on the same shared line picks up the phone and uses the barge-in feature; 3. The caller aborts the barge-in before being connected; 4. SCA or Polycom, I don't know which at this point, turns off the LEDs on the shared line and then the shared line no longer behaves like a shared line. 5. Even though the existing shared call continues, if the new caller picks up the shared line he gets a green LED, hears a dial tone and is not prompted to barge-in by the soft keys. 6. When all parties end the conversation the shared line returns to its previous correct behavior. Have you seen something like this? Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or workaround the problem? Thanks again for your help. The SCA module remains a very useful product for us, Bob

Authentication and outbound proxy

Hello, Is there any way to authenticate requests when using Kamailio as an outbound proxy? For example, if all the phones are configured to use Kamailio as an outbound proxy for NAT traversal, the credentials on the phone authenticate against the destination SIP proxy and not the outbound SIP proxy (Kamailio). Is there a way to have the credentials on the phone authenticate to BOTH the outbound proxy and the destination SIP proxy? Thanks, Isaac

Hi, While reading the module documentation of 'PRESENCE_XML' module, I came across 'intergrated_xcap_server'. If it is set to value '0', then it has to use xcap_client module to fetch documents from XCAP server. But as per documentation, it says this mode is not supported. So can I assume that only intergrated xcap server is supported in kamailio and not standalone. If YES, module xcap_client cannot be used at all? Can someone please confirm the same. Regards, Shankar

Hi, I am trying to use SIPP to load test Kamailio. I am using a combination with Freeswitch and Kamailio as an SBC with the calls being delivered to Asterisk. The problem seems to be with the ACK sent back from SIPP on response to the 200 OK. This ACK is not being forwarded by Kamailio and therefore FS drops the call. I have scoured every page and tried everything so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Keith

TEXTOPS parser problem with binary data in MIME body

Hello, I have a problem with Kamailio version 3.2.4 (tested also with 3.3.5) regarding "binary data" in message bodies. According RFC3261 it is explicitly allowed using binary data within MIME bodies: RFC 3261 section 7.4.1: SIP messages MAY contain binary bodies or body parts. When no explicit charset parameter is provided by the sender, media subtypes of the "text" type are defined to have a default charset value of "UTF-8". However, the Kamailio function "Regular Expression Transformation" (re.subst), which is based on the transformation class (exported by the textops module) is causing problems in our customer system. In regular scenarios, Kamailio is receiving SIP INVITE messages with a MIME body, which is containing following parts: - application/sdp (standard conform) - application/x-q931 (Cisco proprietary with BINARY data!) - application/gtd (Cisco proprietary with ASCII strings) The content of the "x-q931" and "gtd" body parts is depending on (UUS1) data that were received on the ISDN line. Kamailio has to forward User-User specific information from the ISDN line to SIP user agents (in form of the "User-to-User" header field). The content of these UUS1 data may contain also byte values "00", which is legitimate. In general, Kamailio is in every INVITE message searching specific content in the last body (application/gtd) and copying this content to a config variable. As soon as the x-q931 body contains nul values (0x00 in binary format), the parser stops at this position and cannot parse the rest of the message. Therefore, I am missing the information that should be copied to the SIP header field, as the parser stops before the end of the message body! As long as the message body does not contain 0x00, it is working fine! My question is: - is this a bug in Kamailio parsing functions? - is this a design issue of Kamailio text parsers (as binary data are allowed acc. RFC3261) - does anybody know a solution for this problem? This "bug" is causing big troubles.... Registering "upstream" with the uac module, but with authentication

Hi, I'm making slow but steady progress with my Kamailio project. My next task: I need to "relay" a registration to an upstream service. IE when one or more devices registers against my local registration service, I need to initiate a corresponding registration upstream. If all my local devices unregister, all all the registrations lapse, I want to drop the upstream registration. There is an example a bit like this in the Asterisk integration example. However in that case the Asterisk doesn't challenge for authentication. My upstream does. I can't find anything in the uac module docs about authenticating. Is there any way to handle this. Calling users on another kamailio server

I currently have two independent kamailio servers. I'd like to set them up in a way that user1 on server1 can make a call to user2 on server2. After searching I've come up with two ways that this might be able to be done. Can someone please sanity check these or point me in the right direction? 1. Have one registrar server and convert the other server to a proxy 2. Keep them both as registrars and somehow make them each aware of the users on the other server I like 2 better because if one server went down users on the other server would still be up. The only thing is I don't know how to set the servers up to communicate with each other.
