Dear All, .May be I couldn't express my doubt properly ijn my earlier mails.Actually we were testing OfficeSIP server with SipML5 client for multiparty videoconferencing with presence enabled for showing buddy list and it is working properly.Now as we moved to kamailio with same client and configuring kamailio with Websocket and presence support, I have noticed that the presentity and xcap tables are not populated but location,watchers and active watchers tables are showing correct entries after a user logs in using sip over websocket from SIPML5. I have followed the steps as described in " http://kb.asipto.com/kamailio:presence:k31-made-simple". As Sipml5 sends PUBLISH/NOTIFY request in pidf format is this is the possible cause?As I am a person from java based web application technology it is really hard for me to detect the root cause.Please give me some idea regarding this issue.

Asterisk and Kamailio Integration CAPACITY ISSUE

Hi, I followed your tutorial and the setup is running seamlessly. But the question is that I read somewhere that asterisk can make up to 300 to 400 concurrent sip calls. Higher than that will cause problems. Will that issue appear here as well since you are using asterisk in the sip calling process?? Regards, Hassan Wajahat

Kamailio realtime fails to forward register with Asterisk.

Hi all I have been trying to figure out where Im going wrong with following this guide: http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-3.3.x-asterisk-10.7.0-astdb The only thing that is different is I am using Asterisk 1.8.22.0 Kamailio works fine and I am able to register a phone to it but the forward register fails to register with Asterisk. Its like Asterisk doesn't see the request even running sip debug on the Asterisk Console it doesn't show the register attempts. I have to use ngrep to see any thing. Realtime works fine when I register the phone on Asterisk. Although I can get round the register using AGI I get the same issue when passing a call to asterisk, Asterisk doesn't see the invite. Am I missing something so obvious :-/ This is what I have in sip.conf "IP change to protect the innocent!" issues with dispatcher rerouting to next server when getting a 500 from freeswitch

Hello Everyone, I am really having an issue getting kamailio to try another dispatch route when I get a 500 back from one of my freeswitch servers. Currently I have a list of freeswitch servers located in my dispatch.list file. If one of then is to busy it will respond with a 500 Maximum Call in Progress. I am trying to get Kamailio to go to the next route in the dispatch.list when it get one of these 503 and if it should exhaust the whole list respond with a 503. Hi - Can someone help me understand how pseudo-variables interact with branches? Htable simple CPS Limit

I was inspired by Daniels ClueCon 2013 talk and have decide to try to add simple rate limiting using a HTable. $var(srcgroup) is an id that identifies the invites source/ I wish to limit invites from a given source. $var(rateHashMin) was added just to allow simple monitoring. I query the table via XML-RPC to get an idea of current load. I think it would be better to add it to a seperate table and then I could increase the exprires time to capture more of the course grain points. After many failures because of broken libraries I managed to decrypt my problematic TLS sessions providing the private key of kamailio to wireshark. With TLS+SRTP enabled my nokia phones send session progress and pracks with rtp port. This breaks NAT/rtpproxy in kamailio, which replaces the rtpproxy port in session progress, but then forgets about it for the 200 OK. Attached is a tree overview and the conversations of each phone with kamailio. hiro

RPC command dlg.list (for large amounts of dialogs)

Hello, I am having trouble getting a large list of dialogs (800+) out of Kamailio using the dlg.list binrpc command. I posted a while back that the list of dialog data was coming back truncated, and was told to increase: modparam("ctl", "binrpc_max_body_size", ...) modparam("ctl", "binrpc_struct_max_body_size", ...) I did that, increasing the buffers to 20 MB. Then, when I ran sercmd -s unixs:/tmp/kamailio_ctl dlg.list I got: ERROR: reply too big which clearly seemed to be on the client side now. So, I looked in the sources for sercmd (now sercmd), in sip-router/utils/sercmd/sercmd.c, and found this: if ((ret=get_reply(s, reply_buf, MAX_REPLY_SIZE, cookie, &in_pkt, &msg_body))<0){ switch(ret){ case -1: goto error_read; case -2: goto error_parse; case -3: goto error_cookie; case -4: goto error_toobig; So, I adjusted: #define MAX_REPLY_SIZE to several megabytes as well, and tried the same with MAX_BODY_SIZE too. Now, when I run the dlg.list command, it just hangs and never returns anything. It was stuck there for well over 20 minutes. An 'strace' on sercmd reveals that it receives what appears to be the full listing, but keeps wanting to read() more. I don't have the exact output handy at the moment, but it looked like this: socket(PF_FILE, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 3 connect(3, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/tmp/kamailio_ctl"}, 110) = 0 writev(3, [{"\241\3\v%s\230\4", 7}, {"\221\tdlg.list\0", 11}], 2) = 18 read(3, "\241\27\16\257%s\230\4\221Hhash:551:9521 state:4 "..., 786432) = 340000 read(3, [just hangs here] Now, I would have assumed that perhaps there is more to read and the output is not returning due to some endless locking of the dialog profile table, which is constantly changing. However, that cannot be the case because kamctl fifo dlg_list works fine for any amount of dialogs, and always returns all the data near-instantly! Hello, Here is a query about kamailio deployment. If some one can please help in this regard.We have deployed a Kamailio server.. But due to some un-aviodable issues, our internet connection is unreliable. So to counter this we have got two internet connection with static IP's. Can some one advice some mechanism so that our Kamailio server automatically switches itself from one IP to other one in case of internet connection failure. How can this be achieved ? Nat_traversal module not sending keepalives

Hi all, Currently evaluating the nat_traversal module in some tests, and trying to configure keepalives for registers. We currently use nathelper, but due to the distributed nature of our setup, nat_traversal seems more appropriate for the keepalive functionality (nathelper is sending keepalives from every node). I am calling nat_keepalive() before save(), but no keepalives are being sent. The documentation suggests that is all there is to it, but maybe I'm missing something. dialog save/restore

Hi all! I make failover scheme with two kamailio+carp. Kamailio use dialogs for accounting. Solved tasks: K. as registrar (mysql DB, shared with asterisk) auth/accounting via radius usrloc DB in mysql. Need to solve: dialogs. Today if K1 server down, K2 take sip requests. New calls(dialogs) work perfectly, but if dialog created by K1, K2 had nothing about start and cant complete accounting. Of cause, on K2 i may load dialogs from DB. Sending Database commands via XML-RPC

Location table issue

Dear All I do have two kamailio servers, same firewall same config the only difference is the listening IPs, and the alias name, they do use the same database. And both insert accounting information into different tables. My issue is that one kamailio does correctly store users in the location table for one of the kamailio servers but it does do so for the second kamailio, I did apply *diff *to both kamailio.cfg and kamctlrc and the only thing that is different is IPs/Alias/Accounting table names. Please advice.

app_python and handlers.py not working

I'm trying to setup app_python and I'm using the handlers.py script from the git repo to test. I get the script to load and mod_init() and child_init() both run, but I can't figure out how to get handler() to run. I tried adding python_exec("handler") to my config file but Kamailio doesn't start like that. It says I have a syntax error in my config file. I've tried versions 4.0.3 from the Ubuntu repo as well as building from git and both have the same results. Is python support broken or am I just doing something wrong?

Hi, As the $Ts pseudovariable gets the timestamp only in seconds, what is the best way to get the value of the current Unix timestamp in miliseconds in Kamailio? Regards, Dragos

Kamailio's XMPP issue

Dear All, I am working on XMPP module of kamailio server, but i stucked with some Integration error. Firstly my Kamailio and Jabberd servers are on the same machine. I managed to separately make them work. Call setup between SIP clients is working and so with messaging/presence, File transfer functions for Jabberd clients. But the problem is when trying to integrate this jabberd2 server with my kamailio server by setting XMPP module in kamailio's configuration file, SIP server is starting as usually but syslog gives the following error : Aug 28 19:45:14 kamailio /usr/local/sbin/kamailio[ 19648]: ERROR: xmpp [network.c:110]: net_connect(): resolving xmpp.example.com failed (Unknown host). what could be the problem ? please help me in resolving this issue ? PS: My task is to achieve 'File transfer' feature between SIP and XMPP clients (also between two SIP clients). so with this regards can you give me any hints or links to accomplish this. Hello Kamailio Community, I am struggle to make presence service work on my system. Currently I have PUA list, RLS Watchers List and RLS Presentity List empty. What should I do to see anything there? I am using Media5-RCS android app and Orange Labs' Android RCS IMS stack as my client. how to use 2 kamailios sharing one database to make call?

Hello, I have two sip clients. Client1 registers to kamailio1, Client2 registers to kamailio2. Kamailio1 and kamalio2 sharing one database. I want to make call between client1 and client2. What should I do? Another question is that I want to achieve load balancing with kamailios. The architecture is described as: I run one kamailio instance as load balancer, other to help make calls, and the load balancer dispatchs requests to other kamailios. So, how should I do that? Has anyone ever achieved this? Give me a hand, thanks very much.

t_replicate() and Contact

Hey all, I have 2 Kamailio systems replicating REGISTER's to each other. However, I've noticed that the Contact header seems to be wrong on the second server. For example, if I have endpoint 1.1.1.1 registering to 2.2.2.2, then 2.2.2.2 is calling t_replicate() to 3.3.3.3, the Contact header once it is received on 3.3.3.3 is user(a)2.2.2.2. I think it should be user(a)1.1.1.1. rfc: accounting records time details

Hello, there were old and recent discussions about the representation of time in accounting records. At this moment the acc module stores the unix timestamp as datetime value. In some countries is required to store more accuracy, beyond the seconds. Also, the datetime gives some troubles with converting back to unix timestamp, specifically with time zones and daylight saving times. I want to open a discussion that is visible for all users and devs, being something affecting probably everyone, input from anyone that is interested being relevant to select the right approach. Here are some suggestions presented so far. 1) store seconds.miliseconds as double - there is a patch (which probably needs some tunings itself) on tracker. The precision is shifted from seconds to milliseconds. Internally computed from microseconds from timeval structure. The other modules might need updates (iirc dbtext has only 2 decimals precisions for double, while miliseconds will require at least three -- could be the case for flatstore or other modules). Advantage is the computing of duration directly by subtraction of two values. 2) store seconds and microseconds as two separate values. Should be no issues with existing modules. Even more accuracy than above, no issues with other modules, but will require to use two columns (thus four values to compute the duration) Any other suggestions? Personally, at this moment, I will go with 2), but that might not meet everyone's needs. So a solution can be to make it configurable, as a bitmask of what time representation to store. Say, there will be a new parameter timestamp_mode for acc module: - bit one set - store seconds timestamp as for now (default) - bit two set - store seconds and microseconds in separate integer columns - bit three set - store seconds.miliseconds as double value in one column I could add the parameter and tune acc for bit one and two. For bit three a deeper review is needed for other modules, probably the developer that submitted to the tracker can do it. More suggestions? Pro or cons opinions? How to stop NOTIFY from being sent to stable location entries on unreliable network?

Hi I'm using presence on Kamailio 4.0.3. I have in the cfg file: modparam("presence", "timeout_rm_subs", 0) to cope with unreliable networks. I have tried setting it to 1, but I saw sometimes server and client got out of sync, i.e. server removed active_watcher entries when NOTIFYs time out, while clients still thought the SUBSCRIBE dialogs are alive. Now I have a problem when client re-registers with different local IP/port (e.g. changing between wifi and ethernet, or simply crashed and rebooted), and sends new REGISTER and SUBSCRIBEs using the new local IP/port. In this case Kamailio still sends NOTIFYs to the old registered IP:port (as well as to the new one). NOTIFYs to old IP:port last until expiration it seems. Even though the stale location has been removed from the location table. I have a DB trigger to "SET expires=UNIX_TIMESTAMP()" to the corresponding active_watchers entries as well, when contact is removed from location table. So the DB tables have been updated to contain only entries with client's new IP:port, but it seems that the SUBSCRIBE dialogs are kept in the memory until expiration, even though they have been expired in the active_watchers table. My question is: is there any ways that I can stop all the NOTIFY messages from being sent to the stale locations, i.e. remove these SUBSCRIBE dialogs from memory? Thank you! testing - dialog-based cdrs to database

Hello, being requested several times and as I did get to do some acc work, I added the code for storing dialog-based cdrs to database. But I had no time to setup a testbed for it, hopefully those interested in the feature will help testing a bit. It follows closely the same logic as writing cdrs to syslog. You have to create table acc_cdrs (see utils/kamctl/mysql/acc-create.sql), then add extra columns as you need. The attribute name in cdr_extra has to match the column name (the type for extra columns have to be string/varchar). In kamailio.cfg you have to set the cdrs_table parameter to acc_cdrs. One odd by now is that duration column is also string, because is how existing code (for syslog writing) stored in internally -- plan to change it in the near future, for now sql gives the tools for converting. Hello, I am having difficulties with one of my SIP Trunk providers who insists that the dropped calls are my fault. Long story short, I send the final ACK for the INVITE 200 OK messages to the provider's SBC and 15% of the time the provider's SBC just drops the packet without any justification. I read through RFC 3261 and as near as I can tell, my packets conform to RFC3261. The only thing that seems to not conform is in " 13.2.2.4 2xx Responses" paragraph 4, sentence 4. " The ACK MUST contain the same credentials as the INVITE." I am using the UAC module to do authentification. How do I get UAC to add the same credentials to the ACK as it did to the INVITE ? I am using Kamailio as a load balancer ( module dispatcher ). Thanks in advance. Hey Guys, I've done a fair bit of research, but have been unable to locate anything detailing how to get the Music On Hold working. I've setup a system as per the guide here: http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-4.0.x-asterisk-11.3.0-astdb These features work well - Sip to sip, nat traversal, inbound and outbound calls using asterisk as the gateway. Transfers both blind and assisted etc. The only feature I have found so far to not work is Music on hold. Happy to supply Sip trace & RTP Stream is required, but I assume this is a common issue as I don't see any support in the kamailio config script. Thanks in advance for your assistance Dave

Hi community, We updated our deployment to Kamailio 3.2 and we would like to use it now as presence server but we need to keep backwards compatibility wth previous services. We found that when we use kamailio as PS several tuples can be stored on the database even if they are from different publish (which is correct bu is causing some issues to us) On our previous presence server (which was more simple) all previous stored presence tuples were removed each time a user publishes a new presentity. Which would be the most simple way to achieve this effect in Kamailio 3.2? Would it be possible to remove previous stored tuples for a user on the reception of a PUBLISH before doing the handle_publish through kamailio.cfg ? If not is there a way to use only last published presentity? Thanks Albert

Therefore: - if someone asked questions without answer on mailing list, send now a reminder - if you sent emails to private address (direct message only to personal emails, not as a request from a mailing list conversation), again, they are very very unlikely to be answered there, resend the message to mailing list - if you opened a tracker issue and have more details, add them as soon as possible As for development, I have seen a bunch of commits on personal branches, if they are not requiring special review, merge them to the master branch so the code can be easier tested. Soon we will have to freeze for next major release and it is better to have the code as early as possible in the main branch. Hi All, Sorry for cross-posting this email to PJLIB, but maybe there are some things related. Anyhow! I'm having problems on kamailio v4.0.2 under Fedora 18 64bit and TCP client like iPhone using PJSIP as SIP library. Basically once the iPhone side in close the call (TCP->UDP) I'm getting the error below. Kamailio is running under a VPS without NATed network so it uses a real public address. Furthermore, note that tcp_main is answering to a 192.168.2.98 ip address which is the iPhone client. This looks really strange to me since it should answer directly to the public/port used for the registration and not to a such kind of reserved address. The kamilio configuration is basically the default with a very few changes like NAT, rtpproxy and postgresql backend. This problems doesn't happen at all when using UDP->UDP calls. But I cannot use it because as you certain know UDP connection under iPhone will not work when the application run in background mode. Can someone suggest how to solve this issue or maybe suggest a TCP working solution for iPhone? Thanks in advance. Roberto Fichera. Can I run a kamailio instance as load balancer, and other several instances as voice server replace of Asterisk? If I can do that, could you give me a tutorial? We are using kamailio as our server. Server silently droping Bye message.

Hello, Thanks in advanced for the help. I am absolutely new with kamailio and still struggling through silly problems so please forgive me if the solutions is so obvious. I have a network like Devices --à Kamailio --à pstn GW The PSTN GW is more or less out of my reach for changing the behaivour. As devices I have xlite, 3cx and an android app Kamailio is on version 4.0.2 I have problems with the calls to PSTN, When A is the Android app the server is not able to relay the Bye coming from the pstngw so the android app does not disconnect the call. This do not happened when A are xlite or 3cx. Bye is correctly sent to the PSTNGW if it comes from the android app. For calls inside the kamailio server there is no problem with the devices and all the byes are sent ok. When I call from the android app I have to drop some of the parameters on the Contact header because the pstngw do not like them and drop the call otherwise (responding with a 500 IRP error) I droped the parameters using: subst('/^Contact: (.*)>.*$/Contact: \1>/i'); #delete the parameter that is anoying pstnGW on contact header I also change request uri deleting the 00, but I do this modification on all the calls. XMPP issue

I was successful in setting-up Jabberd sever and i can transfer files through it (using Jitsi's XMPP clients) as a standalone xmpp server. Using kamailio to play early media announcements

Hi, I know that this is not the purpose of the proxy but there is a situation in which our kamailio needs to playback early media for a small number of calls. Which module will be most suitable for this? One way is to use rtpproxy and just functions such asrtpproxy_stream2... to play back the prompts to the caller. Note that the caller is not behind NAT or behind any symmetric firewall. So we a free to choose. We know we could do it easily by dispatching to asterisk where we use the Progress() app or similar for freeswitch but we don't want add the overhead of a new media server installation and configuration. We need a kamailio based one box solution.

The example is the raw command to send, but kamctl takes care to format it. You should do: kamctl fifo profile_list_dlg callers or kamctl fifo profile_list_dlg callers _URI_ Replace the _URI_ with the value that was in $fu. cleanup database

Hallo All, I use the module sipcapture and this will fill a MySQL-database. Is there a better / an other way to cleanup the database frequently as to create an own cronjob? I want to set a maximum interval of time or table-rows, because I don't want my database to grow eternal. Any idea how to configure kamailio, sipcapture or an other module or other ideas? Dear All Users, While logging into kamailio server via SIP over websocket using my sipml5 client (PRESENCE & XCAP enabled along with WEBSOCKET) the watcher,xcap and presentity tables are not populated.Therefore I can't get presence status though I can successfully running my video conferencing along multiple VC clients.I can't find any problem in my kamailio configuration file.I am attaching the kamailio.cfg file.can you please help where is the problem?eagerly waiting for your suggestion. [OT] Video processing of Kamailio Word recordings

Hello, I have few GB with the recordings of presentations from Kamailio World, but they are in full HD format and need to be processed for uploading to one of the web sites hosting videos. Not being familiar with video processing, I am asking here to see if anyone can give some hits about what I could use to prepare the videos for upload. I would need to do: - merge some video files - cut from video files - eventually add few frames at the beginning with title of presentation/name of presenter - resize/transcode to right format for web publishing Let me know if you know some good/easy to use toolkit for such operations (free or at low cost), running on Linux or Mac OS X. Also, if anyone volunteers to help and has already an adequate infrastructure for video editing, maybe it is easier to transfer the raw content via snail mail on a usb stick (unless you are in Berlin area where we can meet in person). Another point would be suggestions about what web sites to use for publishing the videos. Youtube is one of them, but maybe there are better alternatives. If that matters, the average time of presentations should be 25-30min. I have installed Kamailio 4.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 and i am able to test chat, voip calls, screen sharing with Jitsi client. This is a test server. I have to test web socket feature of Kamailio 4.0. I have got no material from google or any forum about web socket. My motive is that i want to make a call from web browser. I have kamailio 4.0.2 installed on Ubuntu 12.04.1 and I already have user/subscriber registered and PSTN routing already working fine (outgoing call) i just need to add config on kamailio.cfg (modparam, ifdefs, routing logic, etc) to make this carrierroute module work based on the db entries i created, if someone can provide sample config entries that needs to add it would be great, since i believe this is not included on the default installation of kamailio. Finding Destination IP:Port for 200 OK

Dear list, Its just a little thing to ask but I somehow can't seem to figure out which psuedo variable to use to find out where a particular 200 OK is destined to go. the scenario is I've multiple media servers in dispatcher and calls are distributed. I need to capture a 200OK that is destined to go to a particular ip! I've tried using the dst_ip, $dd, $du but none of them are giving any results for the 200 OK. I just need to know where do kamailio is going to send this 200 since it is already a part of an on-going INVITE/call. Thanks, Sammy

477 Unfortunately error on sending to next hop occurred

Hi, I see that if 4.0.3 has a network error in sending a request, it sends back a 477 response, but does not execute the t_on_failure route block. Which I want to use to route the call via a local alternative gateway. I saw a bug that talked about the failure_exec_mode modparam, but that's not listed in the 4.0.3 documentation. mediaproxy-ng one-way audio (but not all the time)

Hello, I am testing mediaproxy-ng (running on CentOS 6 on Amazon EC2) for WebRTC to non-WebRTC calls and I am getting one-way audio most (but not all) of the time. I always get audio in the WebRTC to non-WebRTC direction. Has anybody had any experience of anything this? I have checked the obvious (all the ports open in iptables and the Amazon security groups). I know that the right (advertised) address is going into the SDP. I am getting an error message out of mediaproxy-ng a lot. But it is there whether the audio works or not. We are just about to complete the 22nd chapter (over 280 A4 pages of content), with 3-5 still planned to get in this edition. More details about the content and structure can be found at: * http://asipto.com/u/kab For 'early adopters', the book might be available as soon as mid of August, with the content at that time. They will get of course updated versions until the book is completely finished. We hope to use a group of such people for reviewing and feedback. Now I've got round this by calling rls_handle_subscribe($tu), if $tu is detected as a group uri. So $tu will be used as watcher_username to compare with the RL's user. Seems to work but not sure if this is the right way, i.e. is there a way of putting the group's RL under a special URL so that every other user can get its RL document? DB_CLUSTER - Cluster Definition

UAC remote registrations caller id

Hello, I'm using the UAC module to perform remote registrations. When an incoming call comes in from one of the remote registrations I'm using the following to route the call to the correct user: if(uac_reg_lookup("$rU", "$ru")) { lookup("location"); route(RELAY); } This works fine for routing the call to the local user but the "from domain" still contains the IP address of the remote registrar. This results in the caller ID being displayed along with the registrars IP address. I've been reading the documentation on the UAC module and it looks like I should be using "uac_restore_from()" somewhere in the config to restore the original "from domain". My thought was to do something like this but it's not replacing the from domain: if(uac_reg_lookup("$rU", "$ru")) { uac_restore_from(); lookup("location"); route(RELAY); } I've got the following modparams set for UAC and RR: modparam("rr", "append_fromtag", 1) modparam("uac","restore_mode","auto") I'm not sure if using uac_restore_from() is the way to accomplish this or if I should be going about this differently. How to thoroughly test a proxy?

Hi Kamailians, Can anyone on the list point me at a list of call flow scenarios I should consider and test to be confident my proxy setup works properly. I'm not looking at the moment for some sort of SIPit torture test, just a sensible set of scenarios. This is for my client side "outbound sip/rtp proxy" I so far have thought about: Ordinary outbound and inbound calls Holding / unholding "Blind" transfers "Attended" transfers mid-call reINVITEs (session timers?) T.38 Subscriptions In all cases with calls initially outbound or inbound, and doing the hold/transfer at both ends. Thanks, Steve
