Hello all; After wasting my time to search asterisk ability permit/deny ip for Kamailio , i decided to consult you. Is there a module or a way to do permit/deny ip for users. As you know asterisk can do that easily . I found permisson module and permisson.conf but it doesn't work with db and online , so do i write my code with my rules or is there a module to do it? I am trying to diagnose a SIP issue between our carrier and our network. The carrier has a CARRIER_IP and a different CARRIER_MEDIA_IP, and it submits an INVITE packet to MY_PUBLIC_IP using MY_DID. The firewall at our public IP (where the attached traffic sample was taken) redirects it to a particular Kamailio server at 192.168.10.10 inside the LAN, and it in turn routes it to the Asterisk instance in localhost. RTPProxy timeout

Hello, I can't figure out how the "timeout_socket" should be configured. I try with the default parameter in the doc: xmlrpc:http://127.0.0.1:8000/RPC2 I launch RTPProxy like that: -n tcp:127.0.0.1:8000 RTPProxy socket is setup like: "rtpproxy_sock", "udp:127.0.0.1:7722". It looks like there is no communication on the port 8000. The goal is to setup a timeout in case of asymmetric RTP. Many help would be appreciate. Thank you! Regards, Igor.

Hi I am using Kamailio 4.0.1 in front of an asterisk servers farm to handle TLS with our clients and providers. The idea is to have kamailio "talking" SIP/UDP/5060 and TLS/TCP/5061 with the customers and providers and regular SIP/UDP/5060 with our internal asterisk servers. Dear iptel, Thankyou for your open source website and excellent information. I hope you are able to help me with the following. We are an Australian organisation. We are trying to find a good quality SIP provider, commercial grade, with high connectivity success rates. We have used Skype, and it works incredibly well. It gets through your firewall and succeeds with login and successful voice and video call connection just about every time. But every public or commercial SIP Service I have … [View More]used has failed to perform as well. Both the open source and the commercial SIP servers all suffer from the same problems: a.. they don't login unless you open up port 5060 on your firewall, regardless of whether STUN or TURN or ICE is in use b.. they don't reliably connect each call, sometimes the calling end just keeps ringing, and the receiving end doesn't ring c.. even if a call gets connected, they often have one of the 4 A/V streams missing, eg. we get video and outgoing audio, but no incoming audio d.. when one party hangs up, sometimes the other end sometimes doesn't know about it and just sits there thinking the call is still underway e.. when the Internet is busy, eg. at 4pm when children get home from school and jump on the Internet, their media relays struggle to keep up and UDP streams are badly degraded Note that we have not yet tried iptel.org, but I note that video is not talked about much on your website, and also you are an open source organisation, who cannot be expected to provide a commercial grade service. (If I am wrong about this, please tell me and I will certainly give iptel.org a try!) Using Jitsi, Linphone, and many other softphones, we have tried .... a.. ippi.fr b.. jumblo.com c.. pennytel.com d.. opensips.org e.. sip.linphone.org f.. an Australian commercial VoIP service by MyNetFone (works very well, but voice only) We are a business, and we are prepared to pay for a SIP Service. We cannot use ooVoo, Tango, Goober, ippi Messenger and other closed applications. We have to use an open source softphone such as Jitsi or Linphone, because they have an API. So my questions are .... a.. Are you aware of any commercial grade SIP providers that work as well as Skype: a.. they have STUN / TURN / ICE support in place b.. they support both video and audio calls c.. login occurs reliably: a.. regardless of where I am located (at home, at work, on my smartphone, using WiFi at a hotel, etc.) b.. regardless of what firewall I am behind d.. call connection occurs reliably, regardless of where I am located and regardless of firewall a.. every call always connects b.. if codecs at each end match, the call successfully connects audio and video streams both ways c.. when one party hangs up, the other end knows about it and doesn't just sit there thinking the call is still underway e.. their servers and infrastructure performs well even at peak periods, for example at 4pm when all the children get home from school and jump on the Internet f.. they have high performance media relays in place, so that audio and/or video can be relayed if required b.. If no company or organisation offers a SIP Service that performs as well as Skype, can you recommend any company or individual that we can engage (pay) to establish our own SIP Service. Accounting based on location/contact

Hello, I have subscribers that have 2 devices in the location table. These can make and receive call correctly and I can account for the calls. However I need to account which device has made or received the call as there are charges for one device type but not the other. I can modify the contact string from the device to add a parameter for example but I can't see how to add that into the accounting records using tm and acc modules. Thanks for your help. Hi all, i have some strange performance issues (with Kamailio config file i guess): using the default configuration file i can reach a 500 call/s rate, while using the default configuration file in the dispatcher folder i can reach just a 80 call/s rate (using the dispatching failover algorithm ...). Hello list, Can anybody suggest the way to remove a line/attribute from SDP that matches some pattern (regexp), some kind of "grep -v" for SDP ? I'm trying to remove unnecessary ICE candidates from the SDP body and only thing I know is the IP address of the candidate I need to remove. Hello list, we're using kamailio presence for BLF functionality, that means lamps on the phone are green when phone is IDLE, blinking RED when - ringing and RED when busy. In the /etc/default/kamailio file I have commented out RUN_KAMAILIO=yes, this starts Kamailio but my phones do not register. Hi, during simulating scenarios in relation with the notify problem I have so far, I became unsure, if Kamilio (in principal) is supporting handling of PUBLISH requests (event "dialog") that contain _more than_ one (1) dialog entry. I know that it can generate notify requests with a message body that contains more than one dialog entry. But that´s not automatically the same as handling publish requests.... Hi all, I have a multidomain setup that I share load, among two freeswtich servers with a kamailio loadbalancer using dispatcher. For specific applications like queues, I need to match a sip domain with a freeswitch server. A domain should match same freeswitch server on every request. Which algorithm should I use with ds_selecy_dst, or what is the most appropriate way to do this? Thanks. /Volkan

Hello, I have configured TLS on kamailio server. Problem is that in kamailio.cfg, when I use command port =5061. Kamailio doesnot start and error given in logs is >> ERROR: tcp_init : bind(a, 0x9007f4, 16) on MyIP:5061 : Adress already in >> use >> ERROR: Error while initializing TCP port of TLS Socket MyIP:5061 I tried the command " netstat -lntp | grep 5061 " to see what service or app is using the port 5061. Location table not updated

Hello, can someone let me know the reason that the location table does not get updated? Out of 15 extension only a few registered phones details get updated in this table and the rest are not. But I can see all the extension in Kamailio when I run kamctl ul show --brief. Thank you, Arun

SIP over TLS

Hello, I am running a kamailio server with SIPS over TLS. Now I have to connect an android based SIP client to server. The SIP client has no support for SIPS over TLS. But it can run SIP over TLS. First I want to know the difference between the two ?? Secondly how can I make my server accept SIP connection over TLS ? Thanks.
