chane source IP for REGISTER to provider

Hello. We have multiple kamailio behind load balancer. We use UAC to send REGISTER procedure to provider. Some providers drop wrong ip. So We have loadbalanser with external IP and have kamailio servers with external IPs too. So we need to send REGISTER packets to porovide with source IP of our Load balancer. Now kamailio send REGISTER pakets with its external IP. Question is how to send REGISTER with ip adress of loadbalanser? (allias with it dn and ip already exists at config) (listet already had it ip too) thanks/

I'm using Kamailio as SIP Registrar using Websockets. rtpengine with rejected re-invites to new RTP ports

Hello, Given the following scenario with Kamailio and rtpengine in the middle: - call establishes with G.711 RTP - b-leg re-invites to T.38, indicating a different port number then he is using for G.711 - a-leg refuses the re-invite with a 488 - call continues using G.711 on original port numbers as if re-invite never happened Will Kamailio and rtpengine handle it? Today I have a functional configuration with rtpproxy on another SIP proxy. It handles every scenario I have tried except this one. rtpproxy sees the new ports in the re-invite and adjusts its session accordingly. If the re-invite is rejected, the old media ports are no longer valid through rtpproxy, and the call fails. Is there an approach I can take with Kamailio and rtpengine to allow this scenario to succeed? Regards, Jeff

tcp_read_data() errors in syslog

Hello All, I have installed kamailio with TLS module together with siremis on server and all seems works fine except that sometimes appear in syslog file the following errors: /usr/sbin/kamailio[3266]: ERROR: <core> [tcp_read.c:289]: tcp_read_data(): error reading: Connection timed out (110) /usr/sbin/kamailio[3266]: ERROR: <core> [tcp_read.c:1281]: tcp_read_req(): ERROR: tcp_read_req: error reading /usr/sbin/kamailio[3268]: ERROR: <core> [tcp_read.c:289]: tcp_read_data(): error reading: Connection reset by peer (104) Some part of syslog please you find enclosed. I don't know where I should search for the cause of these errors and how to debug and remove them. Hi guys, with Kamailio 4.1.6 standard configuration and dbtext as db module, when server receives a publish message on the log there's: ERROR: db_text [dbt_base.c:391]: dbt_insert(): incompatible types v[5] - c[7]! ERROR: presence [presentity.c:402]: update_presentity(): inserting new record in database ERROR: presence [publish.c:464]: handle_publish(): when updating presentity and the server reply with 500 Server Internal Error. BYE issue - Kamailio +RTP proxy

Dear experts , I am using kamailio with rtp proxy module. I have 2 questions /issues . 1. When caller or callee ends the call the other end call is not disocnnecting . UA is pjsip based and behind NAT router. Hi All, I've had an 'interesting' weekend reading RFCs and playing with kamailio. I'm making progress - however, I would be grateful for a little clarification. I have sorted out a very basic stateless redirect proxy (config file below). I have cut it down to the absolute basic minimum - and it mostly appears to do what I would expect it to do. It does allow me to call any registered extension from my SIP softphone. Problem 1: I have a Grandstream Budgetone 200, which will happily receive calls, but will not initiate any. Looking at a ngrep, it is ignoring the redirect, and sends out a flood of UDP INVITEs (also see below for details) Question: Is this the fault of my configuration, or the Grandstream behaving incorrectly? Problem 2: I am having difficulty in working out which module and command I require to perform a function. Could someone please indicate the INVITE route in this file for a stateful proxy? how to always use rtpproxy-ng in kamailio

Hi, I have one question about kamailio. rtpproxy-ng is installed with kamailio. When client A initiates one call to client B, SDP in invite/200ok are rewritten, where ice candidates for rtpproxy-ng are added. Sometimes rtp packets are relayed through rtpproxy-ng, but in some cases rtp packets pass through route created by ICE algorithm. How to set kamailio, then rtpproxy-ng is always used? B.R. andrew

Routing calls to a subscribed softphone

Hi I was wondering if any one had any advice or examples for me of how to get a call to be routed to a subscribed softphone. We have 2 boxes in our testing deployment, a load balancer / sbc and a call processing box. Calls come in to the sbc, and then are passed to the call processing box. The call is analyzed and the branch uri is rewritten to a destination address when applicable for the call (this is how we handle routing of calls to certain numbers -- we do this utilizing custom code and a custom db). This works just fine when the destination sip uri is phone number (in which case we do lcr) or if the destination goes to a remote address. However when the destination is a subscriber: sip:[subscriber_name]@[our_domain_name], the call is passed back to the sbc, which passes it to the callprocessing box, back and forth until a too many hops error occurs. The subscriber I am trying to send the call too does show up under "kamctl ul show". I feel like there is something basic I must be missing here. Does any one have any advice for me? Hello! I just got some kamailio servers working with websockets using jssip in my clients and now I want to get the SIP Messages to better understand how it flows between my servers. I have enabled the "siptrace" module, and I can now save information on my database, but the problem is that I can't read the SIP Messages there, as it saves some strings in my database. It was really hard to find a time frame during April and May 2015, because of different dates for Catholic and Orthodox Easters, 1st of May as well as quite some many public holidays in Germany. Kamailio & queue

Sorry Guys, I'm very new to this. Taking a dive 'under the hood', to try to learn what is going on, and to see what I can achieve. I have 1 sip device ( voip telephone) on the network, constantly firing out REGISTER requests (I have turned off my asterisk server!). That's good. I have a terminal window open, running tcpdump. That's good too - I can see what is going on. I also have kamailio - giving me absolutely nothing. It's not complicated config file. In fact it is the simplest I could do. However, it logs nothing - and i am expecting it to. Can someone put me out of my misery, and point out the glaring error I have? How can I send messages to STDERR while testing? RFC: updating default values

Hello, I am opening this discussion to decide if there is need to adjust some of the default values we have in Kamailio. Many of them were set even like 10 years ago, so they might not be very actual anymore. The main goal is to get the best possible settings for common usage. To start with, here are some values that should be reviewed: - default private memory is 4MB - if the config is not that small, it might not be sufficient free pkg to play with (e.g., for sql_query() result, storage of $var(...) values). Should it be increased to 8MB or other value? Debian/Centos have startup script that sets its value to 8 via command line - default shared memory is 32MB - for a decent deployment with tm, location, lcr/dispatcher, permissions, and anti-flood, it might leave not much free space. Should we double it or set to a different value - usrloc - db_ops_ruid should enabled (1) - seems stable, without it there are problems updating/deleting location records when UA changes the call-id for same contact address. - usrloc - hash_size - now is 9, which results in 512 slots, meaning is ok for few thousands of registered users, for more, performance will decrease when doing save/lookup location -- should it be made 10 (1024 slots for internal hash table)? - auth_db - load_credentials defaults to 'rpid', meaning that the query to get the password will retrieve also the rpid column. I haven't see rpid being used that much lately (replaced by PAI/PPI). I would make this parameter empty by default to avoid querying for an extra column that is likely to be empty. Perhaps there are more, I just wanted to get started. Reply with your comments to above list as well as add new items you thinks their default values should be adjusted. Problem with locally generated BYE in dialog timeout.

Hello, We use dialog module in our configuration. uac_replace_from/to is called after dlg_manage(). restore_mode is auto. URIs are modified automatically in all subsequent local requests, exclude BYE generated in dlg timeout. In this case original URIs are sent to both caller and calee sides. If call going through only one kamailio server, all works fine. Problem starts with a chain of servers with from/to manipulation. When timeout occurs in one kamailio server, calee kamailio server receives BYE with original (not modified) URIs and URI restore gets wrong parsing result. Call clears in caller side and stay connected in caller. Whether there is any solution? BR , Julia.
