libpurple is included with pidgin and is available @ http://www.pidgin.im
the module has been tested with libpurple 2.5.2 from the same version of
pidgin :

another point, for MSN, I suggest to install msn-pecan plugin for libpurple

Hi Eric,
welcome on board. :-) Do you've any pointers about one could get this
libpurple library? I did not found in my package management on a first
glance. And what version do i need?
