strip(2) will cut the 2 first characters of username URI.

I am new to SER.
I'd like to modify some of the sip headers like 'uri' and 'from'
header to remove +1 prefix from the phone number.
What I want to do is to change +15042339988(a)3.2.4.3
<mailto:+15042339988@3.2.4.3> to 5042339988(a)3.2.4.3
<mailto:5042339988@3.2.4.3>
Can somebody show me how to do it in ser.cfg?
