Hello,
in my opinion this discussion got a bit too much off-topic in
several messages, inducing inappropriate feeling about how this
community behaves. Please everyone have in mind:
- every message here is sent to all subscribed people, it is not
between the participants of the discussion
- noisy and polluting content make people leave the forums and
prevent others joining if they read the archives
- a ranting discussion cannot have only one actor, if someone starts
such a potential topic, just avoid replying
- the community is all equal, there are no first, second a.s.o.
class categories, neither different worlds
- answer to the messages you can provide some valuable information,
the time is precious for everyone
- new comers are very welcome in the community, many of them in the
past turned later in people answering questions
- if a questions is not appropriate to the list, reply shortly
saying that and providing clear references where it has to be done,
for that matter, the business mailing list is:
http://lists.kamailio.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/business The
business directory web page was pointed in a previous message in
this discussion (http://www.kamailio.org/w/business-directory/).
- unless a decision of all members in a defined group, speak only on
personal name, not on behalf of the project, at a whole or
components of it such as developers, the business community around
it or what so ever generic thing related to it
- don't escalate the situation, a 2-3-hour discussion between few
people is not overall relevant. We are around the world, some
sleeping at the time you discuss or traveling. Wait at least for one
working day for a proper chance to more people to get involved and
clarify the delicate aspects
I'm not trying to pin-point anyone involved in the discussion, some
messages were providing good information, and as I said, it is not
one man game, but I hope that future such discussions will get only
one reply on this list, redirecting to proper forums or web pages.
All other remarks will have to be done privately, between interested
people in the subject, as it was anyhow suggested in the first
message.
After long days, even nights, there might be a lot of tension on the
human side in every of us, SIP/Telecom is not an easy area, but for
relaxation we can create a dedicated mailing list for
ranting/off-topic/funny subjects. Users mailing list is mainly a
knowledge base building forum.
Just to end, I expressed myself many times that the whole purpose of
the project is to be useful, that pretty much translates in
"business generator". I don't mind getting here occasionally
messages that are touching business aspects, but they must not be
pure advertising and they have to be still related to user community
(a good example of such topic is kamailio-related job postings) -
such messages should not be followed by public replies, but through
direct contact. Of course, when such topics became frequent, we will
create dedicated forum for them.
I hope this discussion thread ends here on this mailing list.
Cheers,
Daniel

alex,
if it offended you, then i apologize for telling you to "get a
pair".
well, i have received several offers to do what i am looking for,
not all at my asking price, which you think is too low.
maybe some kamailio users don't consider themselves developers,
but are still interested in trying something new.
i am willing to give someone an opportunity, including you.
