libmysqlclient.so is just a link to the library with version number and he should to
recompile mysql.so because mySQL 4.1.13 use libmysqlclient.so.14, not a
so.12!!!!!!
just look for the location of libmysqlclient.so.12 and add it to the
environment LD_LIBRARY PATH. In debian:
updatedb
locate libmysqlclient.so.12
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH={the directory where libmysqlclient resides}
