Yes, I ran it as debug=3

Here is my modparams for the debugger module.

#!ifdef WITH_DEBUG

# ----- debugger params -----

modparam("debugger", "cfgtrace", 1)

I expect debugs as well, but didn’t see any.  Is there some configuration I’m missing?

Are you sure you ran it with debug=3? Because there must be a lot of "DEBUG: ...." log messages.
