Hello Ovidiu,
Upon downloading the sc.dbtext script from Openser CVS, I replaced the 'openserctl' file in '/usr/local/sbin/' directory since I noticed both share similarities in their codes. With sc.dbtext renamed as openserctl, I invoked the command openserctl dbtext and got the error: /usr/local/sbin/openserctl: 463: Syntax error: Bad substitution. Is this the correct procedure?
Or do I just keep openserctl and copy the sc.dbtext file to the '/usr/local/sbin/' directory. I was not able to create the tables since I immediately encountered the error mentioned above. Can you provide me details on how to make the sc.dbtext script work?
Many thanks, Hans

sc.dbtext provides a limited set of commands in order to manipulate the dbtext files. You will need both openserctl and sc.dbtext.
Can you provide more details about the failure? Have you been able to create the tables?

Note: sc.dbtext works ok in 1.1 release.

Hello,
I have a problem with sc.dbtext script. I understand that it is used to create text file for dbtext to store information such as location, address, etc. I downloaded from Openser CVS the sc.dbtext script and replaced my current openserctl file with it. Unfortunately, it still failed to run:
Here's the error: /usr/local/sbin/openserctl: 463: Syntax error: Bad substitution
Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this?
Thank you. Hans
