Thanks for the info, and please forgive my ignorance on the subject...
Is there a standard that ATAs uses for codec selection?
Like everyone else, I want to make sure my ATAs (cisco, sipura, linksys) use only lower bandwidth codecs. I can guarantee that my ATA's and my PSTN gateways will all have g729 available, but I want to make sure that mediaproxy force a different codec emulation for any reason.

Daryl,
MediaProxy relays only RTP/RTCP packets irrespective of the codes negotiated by the end points. So your endpoints select the codec based on SDP offer/answer model and not MediaProxy.

How does mediaproxy select the codec to be used when multiple are present? Does it try to use the lowest bandwidth codec first? Is there any way to manipulate this so if it finds 3-4 codecs available, it will use the one specified?
