As Daniel mention, try to ngrep or tcpdump if messages are received or not.
Some Phones need to activate an special option to use DNS SRV instead A
registers

not even appear in /var/log/messages.
This doesn't sound like a kamailio issue. But the only way to start is
to take a look at the network layer, are messages being sent and are
they received on the kamailio host.
