Hi all,
I've tried ser on another machine, on linux , no dns servers in /
etc/resolv.conf on the same network as the freebsd machine that i had
problems with but it doesn't work even with alias=.
hope someone could enlighten me on this subject.

i've tried alias, still error 483, i'm using a private ip address
(192.168.1.6), both server and UA on the same subnet...
i also have ipv6, maybe that's causing it? but i doubt so.

Made some progresses, using ethereal,it says
Status: 483 Too Many
Hops (0 bindings)
Hopefully i'm making some good progress here..
Too many hops means that the proxy not configured properly. It
received a request with hostname which resolved to the proxy,
but the
proxy does not know that it is responsible for the domain, so it
tries
to forward it again -- and it again hits the proxy, until the
Max-Forwards check hits.
Find out the domain in the Request-URI and put it as alias in the
configuratio file:
alias="foo.bar"
