Jan and others,
Grandstream does support MWI, in asynchrinize way, we accept the MWI message via Notify, and will play stuttered sound as well as flashing the LCD background.
We will be supporting synchrinize MWI with subscribe.
The MWI Notify message format is base on draft-ietf-sipping-mwi-02.txt, which now is RFC 3265.
Hope this helps,
Bill

Hello,
serctl utility can send a NOTIFY message to Cisco phones that will restart them.
You could send MWI message in the same way, the question is how such a message should look like.
(I CCed Bill Zhang of grandstream). Bill, is it possible to do something like that with your phones ?
Jan.

Does anyone know how I can send from ser a NOTIFY (or is perhaps INFO) message to a Cisco ATA 186 or other UA to turn on/off the message waiting indicator for voicemail. The Cisco ATA is capable of playing a stuttered dial tone to indicate voicemail but I cannot find any documentation on how to toggle this tone on/off from the proxy. I also have other sip phones like the Grandstream where I would like to signal the MWI to it as well. Does anyone know how this can be done? I assume via the ser_fifo, but what kind of message and what should it look like?
