I am considering to release Kamailio v5.8.8 (out of branch 5.8) on Friday, Mar 6, 2026. If anyone is aware of issues not yet on the bug tracker, report them there asap in order to have a better chance to be fixed.
The developers that pushed commits that should be backported in that branch, check to see if they are done or not.
If no major regression will be introduced, this will be the last release from the 5.8.x series, to mark the end of packaging support for it. Currently 6.0.x and 6.1.x are the latest two maintained branches.

a reminder that Kamailio 5.8.8 is planned to be released today, until the announcement is out, any commits to branch 5.8 should first be announced on sr-dev mailing list and wait for the ack before pushing to git repository to avoid conflicts with the release building process.
