About Donating To The Kamailio Project
Kamailio has been developed for more than 20 years with the support of many people and companies that allocated time, infrastructure components or financial resources to write code or documentation, troubleshoot reported issues, build packages, containers or continuous integration services, as well as manage the systems used for the project (e.g., the website, backups, wiki and mailing lists).
During the recent years, various discussions in the community led to the need of having the ability to collect donations and sponsorships that can be used to support the development and maintenance of complex features, finance the work for lengthly administrative tasks or help with the costs incurred for the common benefit of the Kamailio project.
In this scope and to ensure transparent management of funding, the Kamailio management board has decided that donations can be made through Open Collective – the link to Kamailio’s collective page is:
Open Collective is an open finance platform for projects and used from over 2500 open source projects. The fiscal host for Kamailio collective is Open Collective Europe (OCE). Everything related to the donations is between the donors and OCE. The Kamailio Project is not a legal entity, it cannot issue invoices or other formal documents. Please note that the donations may not be tax deductible, the donors have to seek professional tax advisory in their country to clarify it for them.
If your organization needs an invoice prior to making the donation, please contact OCE, refer to their FAQ:
The use of the donated money is to be decided by the Kamailio project management group and it has to be approved by at least two members of the Kamailio project that are registered admins on the Open Collective platform. The list of donors and recipients are published on the Kamailio’s collective page.
Becoming a sponsor or donating to Kamailio helps provide continued development and maintenance of this valued open source project. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of financial sponsors in helping to sustain the tremendous work needed to maintain the software and the infrastructure.
Thanks for flying Kamailio!
