Hi,
I'm trying to run the vm module to connect to SEMS. However, I'm getting
an error in the dbtext module saying: Not enough memory. However, there
should be plenty of memory available. Below I enclose my configuration,
the error message and the ser.cfg file.
Is there anything obvious wrong in my setup?
Many thanks!
Mario

Hi,
I have installed SER from source distribution on Solaris 8
with MySQL properly installed and the ser.cfg edited according to the
Installation Notes. At this point the manual says that the init.d script
is not included for this system. Has anyone done such a script for
Solaris yet, and what other than the full path to the ser-folder must be
included? The manual says that it is possible to adapt one of the given
ser.init files from the source distribution, but the rpm and the debian
version are very much different, so I do not know which one to adapt.

Hi all,
I have a working SER version (0.8.11) on RH 8.0.It
works very well with default configuration.It
funstions as a registrar, proxy and redirect server.
{Thanks a lot to iptel fellows} I am using MSN
Messanger v4.7 and Windows Messangers as test clients.
I read
http://www.iptel.org/ser/doc/seruser/seruser.html#AEN1112
and some publications, tutorials and IETF documents on
your site http://www.iptel.org/info/players/ietf/
As a part of my Master Thesis a am trying to implement
some Services on IP with SIP.Thesis services might
look like
-IN services like Call Screening, Call forwarding
Busy/No answer, Automated call back...
-SIP/IP services like Pre-paid Calling card,
click-to-dial, call conference...
I know that FIFO server is used to write services like
click-to dial, but unfortunately, I am little bit
confused with that. I read the documentation and
examine ctd.sh(Jiri's click-to-dial example) and get
"488 Not Allowed Here" response from Windows Messanger
because of the REFER method.
What I am Asking is:
Are there any tools or mechanisms other than FIFO to
write services on SER? and otherwise more
documentation on FIFO?
For example Can I use JCC(Java Call Control) or CPL to
work some applications on SER?
Do I write a module CPL integrator or JCC integration
to SER to use JCC or CPL?
Any help?

Hey There,
Just started out playing with SIP and have ser setup and installed.
With no authorization turned on I can add users who can register and
exchange SIP messages quite happily.
However, when I turn on Digest Authorization (as per the HowTo at
http://iptel.org/ser/serhowto.html ) and set up mysql support then
everything goes west and I get the following with the client unable to
authenticate.

Version of ser is 0.8.11
The changes I made to the "REGISTER" section in the config (I am guessing
this is where the issue is) are as follows..
if (uri=~"northnet.net.nz") {
if (method=="REGISTER") {
# Uncomment this if you want to use digest authentication
if (!www_authorize("northnet.net.nz", "subscriber")) {
www_challenge("northnet.net.nz", "0");
break;
};
save("location");
break;
};
# native SIP destinations are handled using our USRLOC DB
if (!lookup("location")) {
sl_send_reply("404", "Not Found");
break;
};
};
Previous to this I have the auth and auth_db modules uncommented, along
with the mysql module and the two "auth_parms" listed in teh the default
config file uncommented as well. (all as per the HowTo instructions..)
help.. unsure what to try next :-)

Hi Jan, Nils,
Thanx.
But...:
what do I do if the source - may it also be with you - speaks in strange words:
"File test/transaction.fifo illustrates example of use
of t_uac command (part of TM module)."
and
find $SER_SRC -name ´*.fifo´ -print
yields no answer...
;-)
Your help is appreciated,
