Hi all,
A too simple question. What are RTP_proxy. Is it a
software or buildin in SER? If not build in SER, where
to get it

Hello,
I'm running ser-0.8.11 and I saw the announcement of a
new version that corrects some bugs, including a race
condition in tm module.
Do I need to upgrade my server immediately, I mean, is
it easy to reproduce that "race condition" that
crashes SER?
Thanks in advance!
Chuck.

Hello All,
This may be a stupid question, and so please forgive my naivety. :)
How can I bind SER to just one IP address? The problem that I am having is that when I start SER in debug mode (without forking enabled) then it will only listed to 1 IP address. The first IP that it finds is 127.0.0.1 and so it binds to that IP. I want it to bind to the eth0 interface IP, not the localhost loopback. Otherwise my troubleshooting won't work.
Thanks!

This change worked for me:
modparam("voicemail", "db_url","mysql://root:heslo@localhost/ser")

No. Usually only the session signaling (done with SIP) traverses servers
(=SIP proxies like ser). The media transport using RTP will done between
the two participating user agents directly.

Hi,
I am a little confused now. My understanding is that 'ser' sets up the
session for communication but for actual voice payload i need a RTP server
to handle. Right now i have ser working wherein session canbe set up
between registered users but if these users want to talk to each other, how
do i do it? Please guide me.
Thanks in advance,
Annie
Hi,
thanks for your help! I have now the two instances of ser working ok.
The vm ser instance also writes the message to the fifo and this is
picked up by Sems. However, Sems is complaining about the "wrong FIFO
interface version". Sems seems to pick up version 0.2. This matches what
the ser proxy writes to the FIFO. I run ser 0.8.12 (stable version) and
sems version 0.1.0 which appears to be the most recent.
How can I make ser and sems agree on the FIFO interface version?
Thanks,
Mario

Why do you need an RTP server? For plain end-to-end communication you
don't need an 'RTP server'. If you wan't to do NAT-traversal you need an
RTP proxy (e.g. 'rtpproxy' works fine with ser). If you need
conferencing/voicemail features you can use 'sems'.

Hi,
I have ser working as the SIP server. I need to set up an RTP server for
voice communication. Please advice on a suitable RTP server that works well
with ser.
Thanks in advance,
Annie
