I was playing around with the ctd.sh script and my SER setup w/ ATA-186
clients. I got it to work by adding a simple "ACK" to the ctd script
after the INVITE response and before the REFER. The documentation page
indicates that this ACK happens in the ctd example, but running a
tcpdump/ngrep on the SER machine showed that it never did.
The only problem I have is that when I send an ack through the fifo, it
looks like SER is waiting for a response, so it takes a good 20 seconds or
so before it gives up and moves onto the REFER.
Is there an easy way to convince SER to not wait for a response to an ACK
through the FIFO? I thought there was a fifo command to do this but
couldn't find one...
Also for anybody who cares, the REFER method works with the ATA-186
firmware 2.16 and higher, but I also created a modified version of the ctd
script that completed the calls using the BYE/Also method that works on
pre-2.16 ATAs.

by setting up a DNS name to refer to the IP address and by setting your
ser script to process requests for such a domain (as opposed to
forwarding them somewhere else). The condition may by expressed
as uri==myself (with aliases set to the domain name question) or
uri=="SOME_REG_EXP).

domain name can be in theory different from authentication realm.
However, there are some impleementations which can't deal with it
(Windows Messenger) and it is generally a good practice to keep
both same.

Do I make the server responsible for a domain just with the export command
or is there other configuration I must do? Just to be clear, can I make the
domain name actually be foo.bar just with the export and changing the realm
value, or are there other things that this depends on?

it should be name of domain for which the server is responsible
and it should be the same as realm value in authentication commands
of your ser script.

I see in the setup guides to do
export SIP_DOMAIN="foo.bar"
Does it matter what this value is, ie does it need to coorespond to what I
have in /etc/hosts?
Hi there,
would you share the script?
Thank you in advance,

Hi,
I'm trying to enable vm on ser 0.8.11, without success.
>From the mailing list I see that you cannot run ser as a sip proxy with vm
enabled in the same process, you need to have 2 instances of ser.
Is this the only way to use vm in ser ?
Is there a config file example that support PSTN forwarding as well as vm
support for the users ?
Thanks.
Samy.
