Hello,
i have just started using SER. I am trying to setup MYSQL. It would give me
the following error:
[root@localhost root]# /usr/sbin/ser_mysql.sh create
MySql password for root:
creating database ser ...
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)
[root@localhost root]#
root account has the all the admin privileges. I tried manipulating the account
permissions but it wouldn't help. Could anyone suggest a solution?
regards,
Urvish Khandwalla

As I told you, the acc module must be compiled with database/SQL
support. You need to uncomment a line inside the Makefile of the acc
module (see my previous mail). Go the the base directory of the SER
sources (e.g., /usr/local/src/sip_router), compile the module with 'make
modules modules=modules/acc' and then copy the acc.so over the old one
(it should be in /usr/lib/ser/modules or /usr/local/lib/ser/modules),
and try again.

Hello,
if you want to see some statistics while ser is running use: 'serctl
moni'. But SER is not a call stateful proxy, so you won't see there the
list of active calls.
To keep trace of the calls you can use acc (accounting) module. Another
way is to write some messages into system log using xlog module (xlog
function) when the INVITE/ACK/BYE/CANCEL requests pass your server.

I noticed that some people said in the past that they used asterisk with
SER for voicemail very effectively. Is there any way to register on SER
but still have the stutter tone from the voicemail system work? Could
anyone recommend a different inexpensive SIP based voicemail system that
would work with SER but still provide stutter tone and handset based
message retrieval.
Thanks,
Stephen
Thanks Daniel for the guidance.
I uncommented the load "tm" module in the ser.cfg file. When i add a
new user using serctl command, i am asked for a mysql passwd which i dont
have since i do not have mysql support. So finally i am not able to add a
user to the database... How should i add a user to the database of a
stateless proxy server? I read the registrar documentation. Doesnt the
default ser.cfg include loading of the registrar module. what sort of
tuning should i further do?
Thanks in advance,
Annie

Hello,
when I try to run serctl I get a message
which tells me that I have to set an
enviroment var which is SIP_DOMAIN ;
now for the test phase I use a linux without a domain name;
how should I define SIP_DOMAIN so that the
serctl will work?

Hi,
I like to ask whether the Jabber server is a must for full implementation of
Serweb and if it is I just follow the guide to configure the ser.cfg file
should not be a problem right? And also I like to check on the proxy server
for SER configuration which is the squid right? Can anyone is kind enough to
provide me with a list or diagram to make the whole working SER server with
SERWEB implementation as I am very confused to which files or modules is a
must for the working server to function properly. Please help I appreciated
it.......Thank you
*Have a nice day (",)*

Hi,
I installed ser 0.8-11 on Redhat9.0. I want to implement a stateless
proxy server and a registrar server on the same box. How do i do it ?My
client for now is Windows Messenger. How do i check that the client is
getting registered on the server? I am able to log on to the Windows
Messenger with a username@domain_name but how do i check this user entry
from the server end ?
Please help.
