If you check this page,
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_configuration_g
uide_chapter09186a00800eadfa.html
PSTN error "63 Service or option unavailable" is
mapped to sip error "503 Service or option
unavailable" which is in the header of the message.
Also the page shows why IP phone or PSTN generates
this and how proxy is supposed to do with it. Quote,
"The SIP gateway generates this response if it is
unable to process the request due to an overload or
maintenance problem. Upon receiving this response, the
gateway initiates a graceful call disconnect and
clears the call. "
Look like a pstn config issue. Use "debug isdn q931",
"debug isdn q921" and "term mon" for further debuging.
Cheers,

Hi SerUsers,
I want to try and understand the issues involved in having a farm of SER
servers.
For shared usr_loc data service, is there another way for the servers to
share the usr_loc datasource, besides running usr_loc dbmode at 3 and
having all ser instances updating and querying the same DB?
I would also like to segregate my registrar server from my proxy
machine, but I still want my registrar to see invites and byes for
billing purposes. Basically to separate all stateful proxying and rtp
poxying (keeping it on one or more front end servers) from my
registrar/billing server. So far I have been playing with proxying
REGISTER and INVITE operations from the front end server(s) to a back
end, and attempting to do call routing at the front end.
Has anyone done something similar to this in the past? I'd be interested
to hear peoples thoughts on this layout.
Thanks,
-Jev
Hey has any one have configured the SER to act as a stateful redirect
server..... I am sure one of you have done it.....so can you please
share your ser.cfg with me
Or any one who has more info on the stateful redirect server pls help me
out.... I have gone through admin guide and I have a running stateless
redirect server.
Hope someone's there to help me

I have deployed a SER server and 'needing' it to do some enhance call
control.
I am desperately seeking a config that will get me close or even better
an expert to serve as a consultant thru this application. Any help
(configs, docs, contacts) is appreciated. Please contact me at

1) Auto attendant answers and "parks" or "holds" a call.
2) catch the callerid from a call to an auto attendant.
3) Intiate up to 3 outgoing calls to the parties 'find-me numbers'
send calling parties "callerid"
4) Upon the 'called party' answering play a prompt "press 1 to
talk press 2 to send to voicemail" ( I have a media server, application
and network server in production )
5) Upon pressing '1' the two calls are connected.
I am basically looking to recreate a PCM "priority call manager".
Hi all,
Following up on my post a couple days ago;
http://lists.iptel.org/pipermail/serusers/2004-June/008936.html
I have now tested with rtpproxy/nathelper and mediaproxy and I seem to
be having the same results.
As of now my test environment is as follows;
I have two networks,
192.168.123.0/24 SER server
192.168.100.0/24 UAC (Grandstream HardPhone)
Currently I have a D-Link NAT router separating both networks. I have
SER (CVS checkout from HEAD as of ~22nd June) running on FreeBSD 5.2.1-R
I have had the same issue with both Maxims nathelper/rtproxy and Adrians
mediaproxy. The below traces are from mediaproxy, as my most recent
testing has been done here. I would like to have done the same analysis
with nathelper/rtpproxy but I live under time constraints...

It appears that the NAT firewall stops transmitting the packets, nor
does it reject them, they just silently get dropped, and ser just
continues to send them with no idea if they are getting through or not.
If I set the phone to a very low register time then everything works
fine, as it keeps the nat mapping current, and I can make calls from
outside the nat to the UAC on the inside.
I have attached my current config (mediaproxy) file.
Finally, I have had the same problems while Cisco IOS, and a cheap U.S.
Robotics (Lucent based I think) for natting, which makes me assume that
this is not a nat router specific issue.
Is there something basic I'm missing here? How have people made this
configuration work? Is there anyone actual using nathelper/rtpproxy or
mediaproxy in production?
If anyone wants more specific debug information then just let me know! :)
Thanks for your help,
-Jev
Actually, I mean in the Makefile.defs; rather than using CFLAGS+= -mv8, I use CLFAGS+= -mpcu=ultrasparc
What I have found from the internet is that it is a problem in the 2.9x implementation of gcc. In short, the compiler generates v8plus instruction without telling the assembler and causing the problem below. By using the option as above, compiler and assembler does the job properly.
BTW, if you are using gcc 3.x, there is no issue as the Makefile.defs uses different CFLAGS.
Anyway, thanks for the response.

What gcc version do you use?
I couldn't find ultrasparc in my gcc-2.95 man page.
I don't have gcc-2.95 installed any more on my ultrasparc (upgraded to
3.x) so I couldn't test it.

I am using AS5300 as PSTN Gateway for SER. I'd like to make the AS5300 only accept sip call forward by ser. Does anybody know how to setup AS5300 for this?

Solve the compilation problem finally by using -cpu=ultrasparc option.

Hi.
I am trying to compile the SER on a Sun Fire V100 and have the following assemble error.
I am wondering if someone could point me to the right direction.
Thanks

Looking through your cisco config file, I am guessing your E1 are not
Pri. Ami I correct? I am dealing with a channelized DS3 with T1 Pri. I
will also share my config file after I can get the call routed.
Currently I am getting this below. My understanding is there is
something wrong in the call going from cisco to Pri trunk. Anybody can
give me some clue, that will be great.
