Guys,
Since I just made very substantial changes to my ser.cfg I'd like to
test my full feature set before sharing it. I'm going to put a new
post on serusers_at_iptel.org in a day or two seeking comments on
establishing a "best practices" document for ser.cfg and in that post
I'll attach my ser.cfg which perhaps could be used as a basis for
beginning a dialog on this subject.
At a minimum I'd like to see a more complete and complex ser.cfg for
which other can base their work.
The problem with this is that it would require take some feedback from
the ser core team to ensure the "best practices" are correct and
properly reflect the designers intent. The reason I think this could
be a problem is that Andrei, Jiri, Jan, and company are more than busy
already.
The bottom line is that as great as ser is, coding practices are
mostly a mystry to developers seeking to install ser and when you get
in to complex functionality such as call forwarding confusion stumps
many users.
Regards,
Paul

Ok,
I've managed to get everything working except a small probelm:
When users click on the confirmation email, they get the following error:
400 Table 'aliases' not found in memory, use save("aliases") or
lookup("aliases") in the configuration script first
We regret but your linuxnet.fast.co.nz confirmation attempt failed.
In the backend, the user is actualy copied to the subscriptions table and is
able to login to the DB, however they also remain in the pending table, how
do I resolve this?
Thanks
Barry
Hi,
We have been running SER 0.8.14-2, reliably so far. We've recently
added SERWEB, but with little luck. When a user responds to an e-mail
to confirm his/her registration we get the following on SER+SERWEB's
console:
fifo_add_contact(): expires == 0, giving up ul_add(): Error while
adding contact "XXXX" in table 'aliases'
Any idea what might be wrong?
Thanks,

Dear SER Community!
My company (hosting company) can give (for free) dedicated virtual
server to create SER Community Web Site to share our expirience with
each other. If some set of readers/writers of this maillist will
interested by this proposition, I'll set it up.
For starting setup process I need to know, what we'll need on this
server (php/mysql/perl) and how this site will be creared (self-written
engine or some free CMS/wiki engine).

Hello List,
are PUBLISH, SUBSCRIBE, MESSAGE rfc standard methods?
Where can I learn more about them?
In fact, I would like learn about other methods too.
Any link about documentation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
MOhammad
Hi list.
I'm using RADIUS to authenticate user REGISTER on SER with nice
results. When SER receives a REGISTER message it generates an Access-Request
to RADIUS server (RADIATOR), the Access-Request message received in RADIATOR
is like:
Code: Access-Request
Identifier: 168
Authentic: <161>7<191><14>t<20><162><161>b<182><151><127><241><237><197>G
Attributes:
User-Name = "someuserser(a)sip.someitsp.net"
Digest-Attributes = "<10><12>someuser"
Digest-Attributes = "<1><20>sip.someitsp.net"
Digest-Attributes = "<2>*4225fe505c23a2fcef5689ac36fb5aa31fc85"
Digest-Attributes = "<4>&sip:111200@sip.someitsp.net"
Digest-Attributes = "<3><10>REGISTER"
Digest-Attributes = "<5><6>auth"
Digest-Attributes = "<9><10>00000926"
Digest-Attributes = "<8><10>24a753fd"
Digest-Response = "8626e3398aa04671f3454403fd34c55a"
Service-Type = Sip-Session
Sip-Uri-User = "111200"
NAS-IP-Address = 10.10.10.10
NAS-Port = 5060
For logging purposes it would very usefull for me to have the IP
address of SIP UA as an attribute in Access-Request. I know that SER can get
that info from REGISTER message, the question is if SER (v0.8.14-3) is able
to insert that info as an attribute on Access-Request, or Can other version
do that?
THX!.
