Hello list.
I have a question about reliability in SER. Suppose that for
certain reason, the process "ser" fails, and therefore the SIP Server is
down. Is there a way to keep trace of the "ser" process status?? and if the
process is not running start a script to restart the process. I know that
maybe the "crond" command could be useful for this purpose. Does someone
have any clue about this? Or maybe SER has his own "crond" module or
something.?
I really need and advice about this issue.
Thanks in advance

You mean a PRI gateway or FXS/FXO gateway? Try Quintum
or Boscom gateways for both or lots of others. I've
worked with Cisco, Quintum and Boscom and all are fine
as SIP to PRI/FXS/FXO gateways.

When I use serctl to start my 0.9.1 server I get several hundred messages
like the following in syslog before the server stops and can be restarted.
Any idea why? It doesn't seem to be connected with log levels and I
already commented out the DBG_QM_MALLOC in Makefile.defs.
It would nice to limit the number records logged so that I can stop and
restart the server faster.
Thanks,Steve

HI all !
When I make a call, to voicemail, SER does not find the mail address.
How can I use the module sems with SER 0.9.0 ? I have seen that the module
AVP_DB or AVPOPS can find the mail address, is it right??
Best Regards

...did you already use the included script "ser_mysql.sh"? If no, just do
it. So you get installed the database with the correct structure and users.
Klaus
P.S. The default PSWD for ser is "heslo" ;-)

Hello all,
Could anybody tell me if ser supports some database backend other than
MySQL ??? My opinion about mysql is not too praiseworthy ...

Hi
After reading a few posts on what is a good recommended setup for
customers, I realised that the UK might be different, in that alot of
ISP give either a USB modem (which means u need a router, hence the
device will usually get a private IP) or it has a broadband router/modem
combo, which again means that ur sitting behind a router and again are
likely to get a private IP address.
In java's setup with the just broadband modem its easy to setup the ATA
with a public Ip and avoid dealing with NAT.
Hence in the UK, or countries where the hardware is different, anyone
come up with clever solutions to avoid the media stream handling.
