Hello everyone, Please i want more clarification about what i can do with the Siremis v4.1.0 Can i configure Kamailio to load balance between multiple Asterisk servers and RTP proxy using the Siresmis web interface or i have to interface with the Kamailio configuration file and do that manually...? Thanks in advance.
Hello,
siremis is a web interface mainly useful for provisioning records required by modules of Kamailio. For example, you can add/remove/update records in the database tables used by dispatcher, auth_db (subscriber), lcr, etc.
It can also send rpc/mi commands to kamailio and display charts with statistics from kamailio.
But it is not generating any configuration file.
Cheers, Daniel

This is a SIP router - you route SIP messages in a routing script in your configuration. To configure it, you really need to know the SIP protocol. Start with studying the default configuration script.
If you want something less a toolkit and more complete you can take a look at SIPwise offerings - SIP Provider.

If you configure it so it of course can do load balancing. But "it" -- what do you mean? This is the Kamailio list, and while a lot of people here work on both Kamailio and Asterisk they indeed are different pieces of software with only some feature overlap. Kamailio "only" does message routing, and does not handle media (unless you force it) whereas Asterisk is more like a PBX in that it handles soon-to-be obsolete stuff like ISDN connections and records and plays media, acts like a client, etc.
If you are coming from the Cisco Call Manager world the Asterisk probably is much more familiar to your phone mindset.
And, listen to Olle. He's taught me all I know about Kamailio. If he says "study the config" then that is what you do ;-)
If we rephrase -- what do you want to do?
Ok thank u i will start in studying the default configuration file and how it works and if i need help i will contact u...thank u so much friends...
