Hi After reading a few posts on what is a good recommended setup for customers, I realised that the UK might be different, in that alot of ISP give either a USB modem (which means u need a router, hence the device will usually get a private IP) or it has a broadband router/modem combo, which again means that ur sitting behind a router and again are likely to get a private IP address. In java's setup with the just broadband modem its easy to setup the ATA with a public Ip and avoid dealing with NAT. Hence in the UK, or countries where the hardware is different, anyone come up with clever solutions to avoid the media stream handling. Iqbal
