After reading a few posts on what is a good recommended setup for
customers, I realised that the UK might be different, in that alot of
ISP give either a USB modem (which means u need a router, hence the
device will usually get a private IP) or it has a broadband router/modem
combo, which again means that ur sitting behind a router and again are
likely to get a private IP address.
In java's setup with the just broadband modem its easy to setup the ATA
with a public Ip and avoid dealing with NAT.
Hence in the UK, or countries where the hardware is different, anyone
come up with clever solutions to avoid the media stream handling.
