Hi,
thanks to Lavinia Andrei, we added today a new transport implementation
for the Management Interface (MI). This is XMRPC and it the second after
the initial FIFO transport, but not the last :).
The module is build by using the xmlrpc library, following all XMLRPC
standards. It is in alpha stage, so more testing is needed.
NOTE that only commands ported to the new MI interface (and not all
former FIFO cmds) are available via XMLRPC, but this is a temporary
problem - there are only 2 module left to update (TM and USRLOC).

Hi Andrei,
I am just curious in relation to the recent discussion about consilidation of efforts,
whether this is SER code ported to openser or independently developed version of the
same, and if latter is the case, whether you have any comparison of those two?

have you looked at the code? or at least have you took a look on the
README file before posting this?
this is related to the new MI interface, implementing a new transport
protocol for it - xmlrpc. See the mi_xmlrpc module.

Hi Bogdan,
thank you for stepping up on author's behalf, still I hope it is not unthankful
if I keep hoping for Andrei L. to respond to my initial questions.
Rgearding your questions: I have not looked at the code -- I have hoped for insider's
answer which would unnecessiate code analysis. I checked available documentation and
found remarkable similarities (standardized XML-RPC for use by management applications)
which raised my question.
The bottom line, if I might have been possibly unclear about that, is I would like
to learn what are the upsides and downsides of two projects doing quite similar things.
