Hi Klaus,
actually are the same changes I did when generating the debs for
debian stable. The debian packaging system from 1.1.0 was changed and
adapted by Julien BLACHE from Debian. the changes were made for
unstable version so this was the cause of this incompatibility with
the stable version.
And how do we deal with it? I guess most peoble use debian stable for
production, not testing. Thus we should fix the packaging.

Hi!
I've managed to build packages on debian sarge. I suggest the
following changes:
1. add libmysqlclient14-dev as option
2. change libradiusclient-ng-dev to libradius-ng-dev
3. set the compat level (debian/compat) to 4 (or enable DH_COMPAT=4
in debian/rules)
Does someone knows if there are problems with setting compat to 4 if
building packages for debian testing and unstable?

Hi!
I've just tried to build openser 1.1 on a vanilla debian sarge, and
it fails. IMO debian sarge should be supported out of the box. Here
the problems:
dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies:
debhelper (>= 5): Sarge contains 4.2.32. I've tried >4 but it fails
libmysqlclient15-dev | libmysqlclient-dev: libmysqlclient15-dev is
not available in stable, and I can't find libmysqlclient-dev at all
libradiusclient-ng-dev: If I make debian packages from
radiusclient-ng the package is named "libradius-ng-dev"
Are there any reasons for those dependencies?
btw: how did you managed to make the sarge packages
