Hi,
I've been having problem with compiling OpenSER with LDAP module on FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE. I have 'ldap.so' and put it under /usr/local/lib/ openser/modules/. The problem occured when I tried to run openser.
--- Error Message ---
Jun 11 19:49:53 [16442] ERROR:core:sr_load_module: could not open module </usr/local/lib/openser/modules/ldap.so>: /usr/local/lib/ openser/modules/ldap.so: Undefined symbol "ber_sockbuf_io_debug"
Any advice will help.
Thanks.
Best regards,

Hi Dian,
does ldd /usr/local/lib/openser/modules/ldap.so shows any problems? It seems to be a common problem with this library, e.g. http://www.google.de/search?q=ber_sockbuf_io_debug&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Perhaps there is a version mismatch with the ldap and lber libraries?
Cheers,
Henning
Hi Dian,
does ldd /usr/local/lib/openser/modules/ldap.so shows any problems?
/usr/local/lib/openser/modules/ldap.so: libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x28080000)
/usr/local/lib/liblber-2.3.so.2: libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x28080000)
But when I try to compare 'libldap.so' and 'libldap_r.so', it seems different.
/usr/local/lib/libldap_r.so: -> liblber-2.3.so.2 => /usr/local/lib/liblber-2.3.so.2 (0x281b8000) -> libssl.so.5 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.5 (0x28300000) -> libcrypto.so.5 => /lib/libcrypto.so.5 (0x28341000) libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x28080000)
/usr/local/lib/libldap.so: -> liblber-2.3.so.2 => /usr/local/lib/liblber-2.3.so.2 (0x281af000) -> libssl.so.5 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.5 (0x281bc000) -> libcrypto.so.5 => /lib/libcrypto.so.5 (0x28300000) -> libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x28080000)
How do I fix this anyway?

Hi,
it seems that they are some depencies missing. E.g. on my system (Kubuntu):
$ ldd ldap.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb7ef5000) libldap_r-2.4.so.2 => /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.4.so.2 (0xb7e7f000) libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7d30000) liblber-2.4.so.2 => /usr/lib/liblber-2.4.so.2 (0xb7d22000) libresolv.so.2 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libresolv.so.2 (0xb7d0f000) libsasl2.so.2 => /usr/lib/libsasl2.so.2 (0xb7cf8000) libgnutls.so.13 => /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13 (0xb7c82000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7c6a000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7ef6000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libdl.so.2 (0xb7c65000) libtasn1.so.3 => /usr/lib/libtasn1.so.3 (0xb7c55000) libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7c40000) libgcrypt.so.11 => /lib/libgcrypt.so.11 (0xb7bf3000) libgpg-error.so.0 => /lib/libgpg-error.so.0 (0xb7bef000)
Any errors showing up during installation?
Henning

Not really, nothing came out ... openldap was installed through freeradius using ports ...
Maybe I have to do it by source ...
Thanks anyway

I don't have that much *BSD knowledge, sorry. Perhaps somebody who uses this OS can share some insights?
