Can someone post/link to some examples of how to use avp
module to write/read data to/from MySQL tables?
maybe the new avp_db_query() is more straightforward, but it is only on development version.

The openser.org docs are reeeeealy bad.
Then try to improve them.
Are you kidding? How can I improve them when I don't understand the product fully, because the documentation is so bad?
I really believe that people adding to the documentation by exploring themselves is a VERY BAD idea. When you do this, you make assumptions based on the information you currently have available to you. When that information is incomplete, you make incorrect assumptions. You find that later on, things break in certain conditions because your assumptions where bad in the first place. You also contribute to more bad information when you write documentation based on what you THINK you know, and make it available to others.
This is why the people who know the product the best, the developers, should be the ones writing the documentation.
Doug.

Writing really good documentation is rarely the strength of developers. Maybe because things which confuse others are often just obvious to them because they developed it.
The only thing I'm missing, especially in the modules documentation, is the exact description of parameters, flags and so on (an example is the avpops doc with its listed but undocumented extra flags). Well, maybe I WOULD enhance the docs, but here comes the next problem: lack of time :)

for avpops is another tutorial (more verbose), which is valid for 1.0.x. It will be updated when the development version will be released stable.

does openser support MWI to the UA? If so how does it pass indication to UA?
thnx
If the Message-Desk is SIP aware it will send out a unsolicited SIP NOTIFY request to the UA. OpenSER does nothing special with the SIP request and will apply the normal OpenSER (scripted) routing rules to the NOTIFY.
If you are talking about the MWI serial protocol of an old(er) Message-desk hardware system, then the answer if no, OpenSER does not support the protocol translation that would be required.
