I have just been added to a project to investigate SIP.
One of my UN*X
admins installed SER on a RedHat box. I have attempted to use the command:
$/usr/sbin/serctl add username password e-mail (with the appropriate
values), but am asked for a MySQL password. MySQL is not installed on the
machine, and /usr/lib/ser/modules/mysql.so is not loaded. Do I need MySQL
in order to run SER? The documentation doesn't state that I need it.
It mentions it as a useful option in case you wish to run features such
as authentication. Clearly for that you need to store users' passwords
somehwere. Read INSTALL.
