RTPProxy runs on a unix port and must be running prior to running SER. Make sure you have the latest version of RTPProxy. I use portaone's version and it works great.. If you are certain both of the above are verified, you can run "rtpproxy -f" to keep it in foreground and it may pass some errors. Also, I've never used SER/RTPPRoxy when itself was *behind* a NAT. Not sure how this will react. Good luck!
