I am wondering if there are people outthere using non-Cisco PSTN gateway equipment. If so, I would be interested in a short note, privately or via serusers.
Thanks!

We currently use two Inalp SmartNode 2400 with 4 E1 each, and are planning to replace all our Cisco AS5300 with such devices till the end of this year.
i checked their web site and they don't even mention sip support for this box. also, no iLBC codec.

They support SIP using newer images. You can buy the same devices from PATTON. There you can find the SIP images. http://upgrades.patton.com/submodelselect.asp?model=SmartNode
btw: We are using the Smartnode 1200 and it works fine. (Much better than the replaced Vegastream box).
And of course we are using asterisk.

Hello
well, about US$4K per T1 line isn't exactly a cheap option so, besides soekris box with sangoma card (about US$650) plus asterisk, are there any other "pocket friendly" alternatives for T1/E1 & SIP that anyone can recommend?
Cheers !3runo

We use software version "R3.20 BUILD23091 H323 SIP" which works well for our SN2400 as well as SN1200/1400.
AFAIK iLBC is planned in the near future.
Big advantage is the great support, good flexibility for feature requests and very quick response time for bug reports, compared to Cisco for example.
And yes, Patton and Inalp belong together in some way, but I don't exactly know how...

I'm also interested in this. Specifically does anyone have experience using either the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 or Quintum Tenor DX series in conjunction with Asterisk and or SER?
Regards
