Do I make the server responsible for a domain just with the export command or is there other configuration I must do? Just to be clear, can I make the domain name actually be foo.bar just with the export and changing the realm value, or are there other things that this depends on?

it should be name of domain for which the server is responsible and it should be the same as realm value in authentication commands of your ser script.

I see in the setup guides to do
export SIP_DOMAIN="foo.bar"
Does it matter what this value is, ie does it need to coorespond to what I have in /etc/hosts?
